Once again you are the voice of reason.
It pains me to witness this circular firing squad.
Maybe it is because Newt is just so, you know, imperfect or something.
He is still in the race, but he is invisible.
A vote for him , a donation sent his way, is a rejection of Romney.
It is an act of rebellion.
But it is more fun to just curse the darkness than to light a candle.
A better bumper sticker would be: “He doesn’t hate white people and he’s not trying to destroy America...”
Not. That's the biggest piece of illogic that's being sold to conservatives right now.
Check Mitt's governing record and compare it to any other liberal's. The man is an abject Socialist in a Republican jersey. He is NOT the lesser of two evils.
A 'friend' operating under false colors is capable of doing FAR more damage than an avowed enemy who is overtly trying to do you in.
What is this “our candidate” business??
He is most definitely NOT “our” candidate and never will be under any circumstances.
That is a VERY important point! And don't forget the federal district judges.
A federal judge can have influence for decades. I shudder to think who Obama will appoint should he get four more years.
You are one clueless dude. Since when is PRO HOMO, PRO abortion, anti-traditional marriage, big gov't socialistic healthcare a Republican platform? Mitt says he's a republican and you believe THE known LIAR. Man are you easily duped and on something that is so obvious! When will you start thinking for yourself?!
“I will not vote for either one as I see no real difference.”
Aaah, but remember what our mothers used to say,”People judge you by the friends you keep”.
Obama’s friends frighten me,Romney’s don’t.
It was easier to make than the thought of voting for Mitt.
A thought that might be helpful to some of the ABO’s around here (of which I was one when I woke this morning).
An ‘R’ does not mean a win for conservatives.
Conservatives have found themselves in the minority within their own ‘R’ party. And just why are we in the minority?
Because when we are given the ABO choice we take it, that's why.
As conservatives, if we choose to stand by what we profess to be our principles then our choice is clear - we can not vote against those principles. In voting for a lesser evil, we betray ourselves while creating a minority of those who stood by them.
The Constitution = ObamaCare + RomneyCare?
voter fraud - Telling the American people he's a conservative is a fraud
gas prices - Never even talks about how HE plans on lowering them. Newt has though.
By the way, Newt's still in it. Anything good to say about him?
I will not vote for or support an abortionist/homosexualist/socialist liar under any circumstances whatsoever.
Cool, I’m out of here....some of you guys are starting to sound insane.....what good are principals when your country is burned to the ground and the New Black Panties are enforcing Eric Holder’s “New Constitution”.....
“...anyone who thinks that the country would be as bad off with Romney as with an America hating, affirmative action loving, Jew hating racist who is intent on pissing on the Constitution, promoting voter fraud while starting a race war, and intentionally driving gas prices thru the roof, then I DO question your judgement.”
Bears repeating. I truly believe that another 4 years of Obama would make the first 4 seem, to conservatives, like a walk through the tulips. Historically the second term for an American President is “free range” much as Obama has already told Russia.
Like it or not we need to buckle down and beat this Socialist, Progressive, Communist in office before he destroys our country.
I don’t like it but reality is reality. I think I’d vote for the devil himself if I thought he could beat Obama.
Woo-hoo! That’s one I haven’t heard! Excellent!
Yeah. . .you did.
I just read almost to the part where you did.
Almost. . .
Romney does not want to repeal ObamaCare. He just wants to rename it.
He is the one who wrote the USA Today column suggesting a national individual mandate on healthcare.
“I like mandates, mandates work”
Romney is not the guy we want.
Good on ya, Sir, for putting the highest priority issue on the head end of that litany of guilt.
Whatever else Romney [ is | isn't | was | might still be but isn't fessing up ] he has NEVER drawn a bright line of separation between himself and the modern day priests of Molech.
There are no anti-life votes in my house; none for anti-lifers, none for anti-life enablers, none for anti-life financiers.
If that wrecks the Republic my conscience is clean before the Throne of Almighty God; I know I voted His way, which -- in this case -- is NOT for Romney.
Jim, True... we need to get CONSERVATIVES in the house, senate and the governorships. We need to tell these so-called leaders that they might have wanted MITT, but we are taking back the GOP. It is time totell the RINOs to take a hike. We want a party that is not a light Socialist, we want a party that is for LIBERTY, SMALL GOVERNMENT and LOWER TAXES!! We need to tell the RINO LEADERS that their time is up, that we are taking back our party!
Restore the 10th amendment!! Impeach the leftist president whoever he may be!! Restore Liberty!! Rebellion comes from the bottom up!!
“Romney is the lesser of two evils, which about the kindest thing i can say about him.”
So you will vote for an evil - specifically a baby-killer supporter, gay marriage supporter, non-conservative - in order to protect us from a baby-killer supporter, gay marriage supporter, non-conservative??
Oh, I see.
You my friend live in the real world.
What good are principals when your country is being destroyed?
I’m out of here, take care all!
I have a message for Rove:
You got him nominated, now you get him elected!
If it’s between a frying pan and the fire which would you choose?
This is a presidential endorsement that makes sense —
My GOP Presidential Primary Endorsement: Calvin Coolidges corpse.
Makes more sense than either of the 2 parties have thus far presented. At least he would do no harm.
I’m voting for Sarah........again............
I'm sure you'll be happy elsewhere.
VP doesnt matter unless the P is very old. Where you live is an excellent place to make a protest vote that will not affect th outcome. Obama will win California in a walk, so don't help the D
gOPe idiots, by voting for Romney.
Thank you, Jim as FreeRepublic has been a wonderful site for information and discussion!
I respect you as founder and owner to do as you see fit with your baby!
Good luck and take it easy on one another, Freepers!
I will check back in a month or two to see if the had has subsided!
You sound like a whiny ungrateful 'guest'. Did you send in a large donation to Newt? If not, then you don't even deserve America!
Go do you b*^ching in another country where you don't have a chance to vote for a Conservative Patriot. I'm sure they will have a PRO HOMO candidate or leader to feel at home with along with socialist healthcare.
What I found interesting is the dozens of FReepers (many oldtimers too) that were zotted in January over a period of 3-4 weeks. Why? They verbalized a negative thought against Newt.
I went back to the infamous bugzapper thread of ‘06. Found it interesting that more FReepers rode the lightning over Newt now than ever did back when Rudy was running.
And how strange that was! To have 5-10 years (or more) of FReeping go down the tubes over Newt?
Around here you either learn to be that yes man, or keep your opinions to yourself.
You don’t understand then. A Republican who does the same things as Obama will get support for what R’s currently hold back in the house, and somewhat in the senate. With A Republican (in name only) leading they way they will feel obligated to vote differently than they do now. You will see more destruction from a Liberal Republican because of that support. And it will put conservatives back 20 years.
THere is NO way I am going to live under Obutthole and if you guys want to so thats fine, because you will and I will spend my last dime getting out of this country under him, because I will NOT go another 4 with the Obutthole!!!!
Well, thank you but I’ll be super cautious and just not vote for either of the evil abortionist/homosexualist/socialist lying bastards.
It is a bit silly to call those who want to defeat Obama with the GOP nominee “socialists” or socialist enablers.
Because some people apparently can tell Jim Rob “FU” which seems refreshing to have such freedom, I will take the liberty of expressing my opinion.
I get the distrust and dislike of Romney, which comes from his record as Mass. governor. He either is or was a liberal, or he did whatever it took to get elected in the most liberal state. That is not a record to impress conservatives.
He did oppose the dem legislature a lot and he was more conservative than a dem there but still he was way too liberal for us as governor. Pro abortion, Romneycare, etc.
However, the scary part of the Romney hatred here is pretending that Romney has not been pushing a conservative platform in this election, and that he ran to the right of McCain last time, as well.
If you listen to any Romney speech, it is a conservative speech front to back. It is a speech no one on FR can dislike IF you read only the speech and I tell you Gingrich or Reagan gave it.
So then it comes down to that Romney is a liar. All politicians are liars. Romney has shown himself to be a chameleon.
But this is where the Romney haters leave me behind: Their conviction that he is 100% liberal, that despite everything he is running on, he will run as a conservative, get in office and support Obamacare, abortion, etc.
There does come a point where you have to read the candidates’ positions, and to do so and then reach the conclusion that Romney’s policies would match Obama’s is far fetched at best.
You don’t have to like him, you don’t have to trust him, don’t have to vote for him but yes, Barack Hussein Obama is worse. And the platform of a major party candidate means something (as does his record).
Even if we are talking degrees of leftward, I can't comprehend the logic behind taking a slightly lesser dosage of the same nostrum that is killing us.
Romney is a pathological compulsive liar. Lie after lie papered over with more lies. Doesnt even flinch when caught in bald faced lies, simply tells another big whopper to cover up or dodge the issue. He cannot lie his way out of his decades long record of support for abortion, Roe v Wade, planned parenthood, gay rights, gun control, global warming, amnesty, liberal judges, big government, compulsory or socialized health care (RomneyCommieCare), mandates, Keynesian economics, support and approval of TARP, bailouts, stimulus packages, i.e, every damn liberal progressive issue that comes down the pike.
Give that man your scarf and send him in to do battle for your honor!
as long as idiots like you don’t follow, I certainly will....ciao, everyone!
Newt has not dropped out yet... unless he and not Obama is the "evil" you're speaking of.
Tell you what’s interesting about these threads. The greatest percentage of those who are pimping (or whoring) for Romney are unknown to me (a daily reader for many years).
I only see a few names that I recognize who have swallowed the illogic of voting for Romney.
I totally agree!!!
I got my absentee balled today and my vote will be for Newt..I am still praying that we will have Newt for our President..He is our only hope to get us out of this hole the Communist Muslim put us in..along with the filthy bastards that work with him..
Good luck with that.
Frankly, what they will end up using is something as vapid as the candidate.
Far, far better to throw it away by supporting a supporter of abortion...
Amen, and pass the ammunition!
That's a bunch of crap. Beginning the day after McLame lost to the commie, the inside the beltway GOP elites have been pushing O'Romney because "it's his turn," "he's the only one who can beat O'Bama," "he's the only one with the campaign and financial infrastructure to take on Obama," blah, blah, blah. Although many of these GOP elitists claimed to be neutral during the primary process, the reality is that they have been working behind the scenes to not only shove Romney up our asses, but to sabotage the Tea Party and discourage real conservatives from entering the race. There's a reason why no real electable conservatives have entered the race and that's because they understand that while the the GOP elites pretend to be neutral, they have and will do everything they can to push potential competition under the bus. Instead of encouraging conservatives to run, the party elites have done everything they can to discourage real conservatives by their not-so-subtle support Romney.
I am not voting for Romney. The decision for me is easy because I live in an uber blue state that Romney will not win no matter how far left he shifts once he get the nomination. But even if I lived in a meaningful state, I don't think I could vote for this liar. I have principles and if I were to ignore those principles and vote for Romney, than I would be no better than him.
Oh no! You quit! We will miss you terribly!
Did you sent in a large donation to Newt? If not, you are 'they' and, therefore, part of the problem.
The people are the ones doing the voting and they are nominating the guy they are nominating.
You think LIES from other candidates like mitt and santo have anything to do with that along with their scare tactics?
