I'm sure you know that this argument is frequently used by gay advocates, so I don't know how much stock I should put in this article. What do you think?

To my knowledge, for all of the billions of people and trillions of dollars across the galaxy that has been spent on studies invoking the word "homophobia," exactly NONE of them have EVER specified the difference between it and healthy, normal, heterosexuality as defined by a complete and total non-interest and specific aversion to homosexual attraction.

And until that is done (and you know it never will be), ALL of the "studies" that use the undefined, slanderously accusatory and totally unscientific word "homophobia" are crap.

I think that if we have the homosexual acts shoved in our faces long enough, we all become imune to the disgust and horror, just as our marines got used to walking on dead and dismembered bodies throught the Pacific Islands in WWII.

Any other questions about homosexuality and how we are supposed to celebrate it?

Homophobia is a distorted term... but in the way that gays and lesbians use the term... it is a moral sanity.

Some (I’d wager the vast majority) of us guys just find the practice repulsive—period. The Left, and Hollywood, has gone out of its way to paint people who despise homosexuality as closet homosexuals. I think this may apply to a very (very) small percentage, but that’s it. One could make the same implication about radical Homosexual activists who seem to hate straight people.

I know a few homosexuals and have no problem interacting with them. Almost all are intelligent, charming individuals. But what I don’t want to do (ever) is hear them talk about Gay sex topics or hit on me. That is out of bounds.

Homophobia is very very rare..

However; Normalphobia by gays are very common..
Some gays love men that act like women and some like men to act like men..
No man can become a women but many act like women.. its an act..

Gays are very queer, thats why they are called Queers..

Is Some Homophilia Self-philia?

All of it.

Cracks me up that encouraging an inability to love ‘others’ is touted as a way of encouraging diversity.

Psychology is the biggest form of witchcraft in America. It pretends to be a science. Garbage studies like these are just more evidence of how easy it is to get the desired result without really trying.

Personally, I always thought that this line of reasoning is inherently anti-gay. If this is implying that those who are outspoken about opposing homosexuality are actually self-loathing homosexuals, then they are saying that a significant percentage of homosexuals are self-loathing. That’s really a different form of gay bashing.

It doesn’t surprise me at all, though. Liberals typically do this. If somebody used the word “fag” in college, then they would use this argument because they thought it would shame the “homophobe.” Of course, if they were correct, it would mean they were shaming a self-loathing repressed homosexual. They didn’t think that far. This is more of the same stage one thinking.

That’s because they think any opposition to gay sex is irrational. That there is no reasonable argument against it. Never mind that both Freud and Jung thought of both homosexuality and homophobia as neurotic.

I did not even know what “homosexual” was until the end of high school when the dyke girls gym teacher insisted on showering with the senior girls and was messing with them.

I told my mom it felt creepy and asked her why the lady was showering with the girls. That night my dad lowered the boom about the truth of what was going on with her problem. She was not in school after that. I was totally grossed out. Still am.

Arachnophobia is a fear of spiders, so homophobia is (by the correct definition) a fear of homosexuals. I’ve know a number of professed homos, but I’ve never been afraid of one. I think the mass (hysteria) media is trying to redefine what is a phobia, just as they’re trying to redefine what is marriage.

Do man-hating lesbian feminazis secretly want a man to ravish them?

Do Al Qaeda and Taliban zealots secretly want to practice Christianity (or, horrors, Judaism)?

Do avowed Marxist, occupiers secretly want to be part of the 1%?

Do the most vile sounding posters on DU and Daily Kos harbor conservative leanings?

In my 60 years I have never met anybody with an irrational fear of homosexuals. In fact I’ve never met anybody with a rational fear either. I’ve met plenty of people who don’t approve of the acts homosexuals choose to engagae in but then again I’ve met plenty of people who disapprove of acts I’ve engaged in. Like teaching my grandchildren to shoot guns. Would those who disapprove of my lessons be considered Rugerphobic?

That might explain those who are afraid of queers, but it doesn’t explain the disgust & revulsion of the rest of us.

Who is afraid of homosexuals? Most people’s objections are moral and medical....not based on fear.

Rule 1: homosexuals do not reproduce, they recruit.

I think we should get out our shovels. I guarantee you that they decided what they wanted the outcome to be than structured the study to give them what they wanted to read. Manipulating data to verify a preconceived belief is not new in academia but I believe it has become more prevalent in recent years. Everything is agenda driven.

Just because I find the idea of two guys sticking their privates up each other’s butts disgusting doesn’t make me homophobic.

I find the idea of sheep sodomy equally disgusting. Does that make me bestiality-phobic?
