Is Some Homophobia Self-phobia?

Homophobia is more pronounced in individuals with an unacknowledged attraction to the same sex and who grew up with authoritarian parents who forbade such desires, a series of psychology studies demonstrates.

Of course they are heterophobic. They know what they are doing is wrong but they have to live in denial or else they’d be at best looking real stupid, or, at worse, they would delve dangerously into their self hatred already existing and would commit suicide.

America has a real Kool Aid problem regarding homosexuality.

I don’t like the exhibitionist parades, on public streets. I can do without the schools indoctrinationg my kids - ever hear the term ‘love not gender’...your kids probably have, I would really be happy if we hadn’t had a multi-decade battle over gays in the military, to accomodate the few dozen who want to be openly gay in the military.

Phobias are irrational fears.
Being repulsed by homosexuality is not a phobia.
Homosexuals are the most self loathing people I know, which is why they are desperate to be justified by society.
My brotherIL is a homosexual, nice guy but on the wrong track. He talks openly about his lifestyle, with out details.
He says homosexuals are self loathing, shallow individuals in desperate need of love, which they equate with sex acts.
In his opinion they will suppress these bits of knowledge and fight for social acceptance, so they can feel better about themselves. Which he says why so many desire for their partnership to be called marriage and the drive to adopt, they want to feel normalized. (As a side note he does not believe in homosexual marriage or that homosexuals be allowed to adopt or be foster parents, he will tell you that children need a mother and a father.)

So that is my opinion and the opinion of someone close to me.

Exactly!! "Phobia" means fear. I doubt there are many in here who are fearful of homosexuals -- but there are many who do know the difference between right and wrong, safe and dangerous.

Indeed, this is all about “communist electioneering”, ie. the endless campaigning of Obama is a in fact an extention of the endless communist campaign for a communist presidency using and living a communist language.

The way they brought Fluke out of the woodwork to get the emotional woman vote to swing against the GOP and in favor of Obama is exactly that.

When they start talking about homophobia, it is a “movement”, ie. an active measure of campaigning to divide, conquer and “Win” people by fear, blackmail and embarassment. This is cultural electoral campaigning for communist causes.

I think that the definition of homophobia reinforces opposition, slurs good people, and is so nebulous that I doubt anyone could objectively describe it.

I have never seen a single Freeper "consumed by fear" that a homosexual would make a pass at them. Disgusted at the prospect---sure. Understandably so. But frightened? That makes no more sense than the word "homophobia" does.

Oh, double horsehockey! "Homophobia" is a catch phrase mixing Latin and Greek that means "fear of man".

I'm not afraid of homosexuals, I'm just repulsed by their "life style" and all of the waste homosexuality entails.

I have a homosexual Brother who thinks of nothing else but homosexuality and his "community". He is impossible to be around and as far as the family tree goes, he could care less, since he is never going to have kids. I worry about him because his "community" experiences 43 times higher STD rates than the normals do but that doesn't slow down the rampant promiscuity. It's a mental disease and it's a cultural wrecking ball until we can finally find a cure.

This claptrap by the good doctor is yet another bogus argument meant to try make all of us with normal inclinations begin to doubt ourselves>

To my knowledge, for all of the billions of people and trillions of dollars across the galaxy that has been spent on studies invoking the word "homophobia," exactly NONE of them have EVER specified the difference between it and healthy, normal, heterosexuality as defined by a complete and total non-interest and specific aversion to homosexual attraction.

And until that is done (and you know it never will be), ALL of the "studies" that use the undefined, slanderously accusatory and totally unscientific word "homophobia" are crap.

I think that if we have the homosexual acts shoved in our faces long enough, we all become imune to the disgust and horror, just as our marines got used to walking on dead and dismembered bodies throught the Pacific Islands in WWII.
