To allow unrestrained lawlessness at so sacred a site is whats fundamentally unthinkable. By Video obtained by the International Committee for Last Tuesday, several hours before he was to wed, a young bridegroom wished to say a short prayer at his mothers grave on Jerusalems Mount of Olives. He lost his mother last year and a visit to the cemetery constituted for him her inclusion in his special day. He was driven up by his friend Dror Klein.
As they neared their destination, a bucket of white paint crashed into the front windshield, obscuring Drors view. A hail of stones followed.
In minutes some 30 to 40 young Arabs surrounded the vehicle, rocking it menacingly and hurling large rocks, cement blocks and broken pavement fragments at the two.
The bridegroom was dragged out of the car, a boulder was smashed on his head and he was beaten up to the sounds of Alahu Akhbar (God is great). Dror somehow managed to maneuver his Hyundai directly at the attackers. As they momentarily scurried, the bridegroom and his resourceful driver got away by the skin of their teeth.
Dror said the mob had murderous looks and we began reciting Shema Yisrael the prayer Jews say when death seems imminent.
The terse police statement later noted that light injuries were sustained. The victims were evacuated to Shaarei Zedek Hospital. The police are trying to track down the perpetrators.
But the police know exactly where they came from. An Arab boys school is positioned directly alongside the road leading to the venerable ancient Jewish cemetery. The majority of incidents originate there. The attackers are generally teenagers and they often prepare ambushes well in advance. The fact that they had paint at the ready, along with arsenals of heavy rocks, betokens unquestionable premeditation.
Moreover, their violence is steadily ramped up to the point where fatalities should surprise no one. For years they stoned vehicles on their way to the second holiest Jewish site in Jerusalem. Gradual escalation has led to actual concerted lynching attempts. This isnt esoteric information.
Several ways exist of putting an immediate and effective end to the daily anti-Jewish assaults. The school can be closed down until ironclad guarantees are obtained that brutality from its grounds would cease forthwith. Any repeat aggression would lead to another closure.
Alternatively, the police can establish a permanent presence on the road to the cemetery both to protect visitors and deter their tormentors. This isnt rocket science and can be achieved.
To allow unrestrained lawlessness at so sacred a site is whats fundamentally unthinkable. Mourners should not fear for their lives at any cemetery anywhere in Israel, but all the more so at the most ancient continuously used burial ground anywhere in the world.
The Mount of Olives was already consecrated as the last resting place for Jerusalems Jews pre-First Temple days 3,000 years ago. It still serves that purpose. The only break was during the 19 years of Jordanian rule between 1948-1967. Not only were Jews barred entry then (in brazen contravention of armistice treaty obligations), but ancient irreplaceable tombstones were ripped out and used for the construction of roads, army barracks and underscoring the intent to defile, desecrate and humiliate as walls and floors of public latrines.
The Jewish return to an indisputably Jewish site is what world opinion and the Arabs now deem as occupation.
Predations occur daily. Headstones are hammered and graves daubed with paint and tar, smeared with human feces, covered in garbage and debris and defaced with hate inscriptions. Even the numerous graves of some of the most famous Jews throughout the generations arent spared this deliberate despoilment.
Particularly maddening is the fact that the persistent and exacerbated attacks at the Mount receive minimal resonance in our media. Contrast that, for example, with censure for loutish anti-Arab chants by football hooligans at the Malha Mall where life, limb and our national honor arent at stake.
The public was ceremoniously promised a police station at the Mount. It was supposed to be operational nearly three months ago. Word now is that it might be inaugurated several months from now but no precise date can be fixed. Why?

BLOODY SAVAGES!!
Don’t worry, Jesus will return there.
I think one problem with Israel (no basis for this "I think", just a gut feeling .. )regarding anything to do with Jesus is they haven't accepted Him as Messiah so, it's good tourist business and the such, but it ain't Sarah's tomb.
Just sayin'
The Arab school should melt.
Or.....
If they want to behave like uncivilized animals, treat them like uncivilized animals.
Pick one or two off and the next morning when the little terrorists in training show up for school, the first thing they see are the grossly mutilated pig fat covered bodies of what appears to be a couple of teenagers.
Don’t claim any responsibilty. Don’t say another word about it.
The attacks will stop.
Level the school (make sure the boys are out first).
Deport the boys and their families. They have lost the right of citizenship.
America is going to get hit again by these murdering thugs. We are going to pay. And Obama and his criminal gang will no nothing to protect us. It is best to make sure you are protected yourself. In the end, after your family and close personal human friends, who do you have you can count on down here on this fallen world. Only He can protect you for all eternity. After Him, we have no one.
Your remedy would be most effective if the two chosen examples were leaders.
If you pretend the problem doesn't exist, you don't have to deal with it.
At least the million man march on Jerusalem was a farce. No news reports on that.
Of course. Because all those three thousand years of Jewish history is "mythology." [/sarcasm]
“Dont worry, Jesus will return there.”
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. [Zechariah 14:4] ...
And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.
[Zechariah 14:9]
I can hardly wait.
In the final analysis, much of this is Israel’s fault for allowing such nonsense in the first place, in the name of whatever dumb leftist idea. In order, they need to do the following:
1) Nationalize all holy sites of all religions but Jewish. This is to make it clear in the world that Israeli territory permits no foreign claim to their lands for other than embassies. They may then *lease* them very liberally, but with the firm understanding that if the tenets misbehave, they will lose their lease and it will be available for others. For example, if the Wahhabi management of the al-Asqa mosque cut up rough, they should lose their lease, which could then be offered to the much less annoying Sufi sect. The mere threat of doing this would terrify the Wahhabis.
2) Use eminent domain to purchase all Muslim properties in Jerusalem at fair market value. From that point, there are no further claims to Jerusalem ever being divided again. While Israel may be doing something like this, by taking so long to do it, they are extending everyone’s discomfort in doing so.
3) Make it clear that for each and every attack from the Gaza Strip and West Bank, the Palestinians who live there will forfeit a proportionately small amount of land, that shall “forevermore no longer be Muslim land”. Muslims are obsessed with obtaining more land as their one means of showing themselves to be “good” Muslims, and are in deep shame if they ever “lose” land to infidels.
And no matter what pressure Israel endures, it must never, ever return any of that land at all.
IMHO, rock throwing is ADW. (Just ask Goliath...)
A few good "hose-downs" of rock-throwing punks would decrease the popularity of that "sport" in short order...
