What the hell is going on in Florida today? (Vanity)
January 31, 2012 | no dems

Posted on 01/31/2012 7:39:19 AM PST by no dems

Read a poll here on FR last night, Posted by another FReeper, and had a hard time sleeping. I woke up this morning with a couple of questions:

1. When 34% of the Tea Partiers polled are going for Romney, Paul or no one in FL today, what the hell is going on?

2. When many Evangelicals are voting for a Marxist Mormon today in FL, what the hell is going on?

I'm to the point that I've decided that most voters in America are stupid and this nation deserves what it will get with four more years of Barack Hussein Obama in the White House. So, let the good times roll, mama. To hell with all of them.

What’s going on? Well, FL voters are having to pick the least worst candidate and looks like Mittens will win. The US is in a bad way in regards to the economy and Obama is the most polarizing president ever. This SHOULD be a easy win but instead we have Newt and Romney as our choices. How pathetic.

So you are convinced this poll-predicted Romney win is primarily because the ads convinced all these Floridians Romney is more electable than Newt?

I thinks it is due to the fact that while does advertising work, the ads were cleverly designed to appeal to the unique Florida demographic, and Romney is a distinguished-looking man, especially to the targeted market.

I wish I could get my permit. NYC I think it is impossible for me to get one.

I would have to pay a lawyer likely 3 grand to get it through for me.

Most people really have a problem with folks who are more intelligent than they are. Newt certainly has that difficulty, and this is Florida where the people are easily sent into deep pits of depression by something as simple as the "butterfly ballot".

I'd look for the dumbest candidate ~ that's where you'll find Florida voters.

“When 34% of the Tea Partiers polled are going for Romney, Paul or no one in FL today, what the hell is going on?”

I suspect there is nothing wrong with them. It’s their choice. I suspect they are “Fiscal Conservatives” voting for the economic welfare of the country. That’s what is wrong with the word “Conservative.” It breaks at the fork in the road. You’re either “with me or against me” type mentality. Just because someone is Tea Party doesn’t necessarily mean they hate Mormons or supposed Kooks. They may care more about jobs and earnings. They want smaller government. For some, the moral standard accepted by many on the Right is way below par for Gingrich and ignored for Romney. The economic factor is way below par for Romney and ignored for Gingrich. Fiscal Conservatives, who salute Romney’s achievements, will vote for the party’s choice. Moral Conservatives, who forgive Gingrich his morals, will not vote for the party nominee unless it’s Gingrich. It’s probably too late to join forces and Obama walks in.

It’s just SO ironic that the “halo” of electability has been built up & bestowed on Romney the last four years .... it is all an illusion ..... fake as Romney himself, and he will not beat Obama. No wonder Obama and thugs are licking their chops ..... as one FReeper put it, a “lighter shade of FAIL”. All things being equal, the incumbent will win. The sheeple who got stampeded by the GOP-e and Romney’s $$ are going to be in for a sad surprise come November .... not that they care.

What is going on, is that apparently, not that many people want Newt to win. Pretty simple really, they don’t like him.

As much as we wish it were, the entire Republican electorate isn't made up of FR.

I think the sun rose in Florida as usual, and so forth. Let’s not get too carried away, especially by polls.

Seems like we are living out the movie "Idiocracy." How very sad.

Romney might well end up with enough delegates to win the nomination BUT he does not now have nor will he ever have the Republican voting base behind him.

The dude just can't connect with real people ~ maybe with the fruitcakes in Florida, but not elsewhere.

Not many people liked Steve Jobs either but he was a visionary leader. People are voting to trade the world's worst venture capitalist in history for a vulture capitalist plant. We're screwed.

The electorate only has info that is given to them. Not everyone is a FReeper nor do they know the depth of the duplicity of the press.

That is true, but I think it's much much worse than that. With Blacks, most simply know nothing about anything, and just vote racially. With the youth, most don't pay attention to politics, to any meaningful depth, and peer pressure causes them to vote for the assumed (enlightened) party, which is taught to them in public school. All those on the government dole vote for whoever they think will keep the free paycheck coming. And very unfortunately, a large portion of our population couldn't name any elected politician other than Obama.

You’re right ya know.

One of my family members ( most of them are DEMONCRAPS ewwwwwwww ), told me she’d vote for an R for the first time in her life IF it was NOT Gingrich.

People are stupid , ignorant and stubborn all wrapped into one decaying burrito if they’ll vote for Ovomit again.
Man, I just wanna bitch-slap em into the next century sometimes / rant off.........

“Did you see him gloating on Hannity last night? Saying Newt was so sad, flailing, etc.”

The absolute sneering, snarkiness of this man...Does he have a clue how many of us despise him?
Hopefully, he’ll find out real soon.

“The electorate only has info that is given to them. Not everyone is a FReeper nor do they know the depth of the duplicity of the press.”

That’s very true. In addition, I am relatively active with the local R party, and based on my conversations I have noticed that many conservative R women (I am talking about long-term conservative, Republican, strong family values, very politically aware types) find Newt’s personal life over the past 15 years, in particular his second divorce and third wife, to be repulsive. I am not defending that view; that’s just my observation. Family stability, commitment to a wife, etc. are important values to this class of voters. I am convinced Newt’s past is costing him 10 to 15 percent of the primary vote in the Southern states.

She’s dreaming! If Remulak gets the nomination there are enough angry conservatives who will go to polls, vote the undercard and write in somebody else (Newt) for POTUS. It would be enough that Myth would lose the presidency but the GOP adds seats to the legislature that are hostile to OFudgePackula. It would the ulitimate slap in the face to the Establishment. I recommend this strategy because it still saves the country

kook paul has always been a vote splitter. He keeps blue dogs out of the democrat party and keeps the effete elites in power.

Florida’s closed primary looks on track to have around a 10% turnout.
