I am not a young man, and I have found during this lifetime that people who are blind to any and all other opinions and who follow one path no mattter what gets in the way ,are what I call fanatics.

The problem is, in survey after survey, less than 2% of Americans say abortion is the most important issue in an election.
I’m not condemning the beliefs of the pro-life crowd, but the 2% is an indication of the total failure of their tactics to convince America of the importance their issue.
Not sure who I’m supporting yet, but at the moment, Perry is clearly the more experienced conservative in the race. On the other hand, his poll numbers are almost as bad as Cain’s were for most of his run. Not quite — Perry is polling better than Cain did 2 months after Cain entered the race.
And with Cain getting the attention, and wilting under the pressure, who knows who the next star will be. Gingrich might just end up on top.
I agree with the headline
I am 100% pro-life, no exception for rape or incest. My reasons? The child resulting from rape/incest is perfectly innocent, AND, the woman carrying the child is re-traumatized by the abortion, not healed.
There are logical arguments to be made about taking a child’s life if your life is in danger - you are after all allowed to kill someone who is trying to kill you - but I think the issue is moot because I don’t really think there are any real categories where that is necessarily the case. Anyway, the baby is not TRYING to kill you, so, while I wouldn’t prosecute someone for doing it, I think it is wrong.
That said, I’d support a candidate who takes these exceptions because they are so very rare and he/she would not be able to affect the law in this area anyway.
