Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
Casey did not enter a plea of insanity or mental incompetence or even mental deficiency so it is not up to the jury to decide her mental health.
You totally misunderstand. I didn't say that she was insane or incompetant, I said that she had mental issues. They're not the same thing.
Also, you are totally misunderstanding what those sort of pleas are for. Those pleas are for defenses where the defendant admits to the charges, not for explaining why the defendant reacts in an odd way.
The fact of the matter is that using superstition to try to divine a person's guilt by their reactions to a crime is quackery.
If I were George, I’d send Casey a letter that said something along the lines of: “By the way, when Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez takes you to the cleaners in Civil Court, we’re not going to pay a penny of it. That’s all on you. Have a nice day!”
The Anthonys are now claiming they are getting death threats from former searchers for Casey.
Just wondering, can Kronk or some of the others who the defense implied were involved sue for defamation? Like the civil trial against OJ?
Any lawyers.Especially criminal-loving defense, as they love to defend and try to acquit clearly guilty killers, like O.J., and now the slut.

Are you Kidding. You really don’t KNOW about all of her lies. No one has seen her juvie records but the first known started when she was 17. then ofcourse there are the 1000 forged checks on G&C’s account. and all the Fraudulent CC charges. If you missed all the lies and stealing and cheating. You don’t know the REAL Casey Anthony.

I listened to some of the jury selection testimony and this was definitely an NPR jury. Bunch of bleeding heart liberals who are pro-abortion and can’t be judgmental!
And that is the point. You got to it. Thank you. After that you are left with any theory you can mentally come up with. And you were the one that came up with the best motive. At least it was logical what you said and I could understand it. Going out to party was a joke. But it also could have been George trying to shut her up. So whats a jury to do?
That’s the question I just asked. Do any of the people Casey and her defense team implicated have recourse to sue in civil court?
George and Cindy immediately left. They knew she was guilty. If they thought she was innocent, they would have at least looked her way, tried to be near her to hug her— nothing, they took off and George looked like he was going to be sick.
OK, then how does a child drown in a pool? At the very least you have negelect, and all the other crimes dealing with handling of a corpse/human remains.
Accidents happen - children have been drowning since the dawn of man.
No one has any problems with her being charged with the post-death actions. I will say that society would be much better off if she received some competent mental health treatment - putting her in regular prison for those other charges isn't going to help anyone.
There is no evidence, either of the above apply in this case.
She was examined by more than four shrinks.

That 's the whole problem (among others)in this case, know one KNOWS.
It can be speculated but no one can PROVE how or what happened.
Our justice system provides the charges be proved BEYOND a reasonable doubt, unfortunately that burden was not met.

I have not followed this case very closely..but where were the rest of the family..how is it that noone reported it for 31 days?
I just had to walk away from it for awhile. Our community in Central Florida is in shock, stunned and angry.
I heard the alternate too- though it was really hard to hear what he was saying with the cell connection.
With a not-guilty verdict coming back this quickly I am wondering if these people really 1) understood the evidence and 2) believed that reasonable doubt meant ANY and ALL doubt.
I believe in our system- it’s the fairest in the world. I strongly believe in the rights of the accused and in the LEGAL presumption of innocence (in COURT - not in the public) until proven guilty.
We will have to abide by this verdict.
But there is no justice for this child, for Caylee.
In the end- they didn’t believe anything the prosecution presented. Nothing.
EXACTLY! That is why the verdict was the only just verdict.
Just as you said...”I don`t know what to believe” That is probably how the jurors felt as well, so for them to have felt that way and convicted, would have been a travesty of justice.
None of us KNOW what happened!
