Social Security claim vanishes from O'Reilly podcast
WND ^ | April 16,2011 | Bed_Zeppelin

Since Fox News host Bill O'Reilly erroneously claimed President Obama's Connecticut-issued Social Security number was likely the result of his father having "lived in Connecticut for several years," the cable news giant has apparently scrubbed the audio of the statement from its website.

In his viewer email segment Wednesday night, O'Reilly was asked by viewer John Knox of Arlington, Va.: "What about Obama having a Connecticut Social Security number? He never lived there."

"His father lived in Connecticut for several years," O'Reilly answered, adding that "babies sometimes get numbers based on addresses provided by their parents."

Another letter from Fox viewer Ken McFadden of LaGrange, Ga., asked: "O'Reilly, will you stake your professional reputation that Mr. Obama is constitutionally eligible to be president?"

"I will, Ken," answered O'Reilly.

But those questions and answers did not appear on a Fox News website podcast of the episode purchased, downloaded and audited by WND. In addition, a printed version of the question-and-answer exchange, above, on BillOReilly.com, a separate site, also left out the key question about Connecticut.

He is also trying to make sure the WH door is open for future “O” interviews which will naturally boost ratings.

I like the O’Reilly show......but ONLY when Laura Ingram is hosting. The rest of the time it’s unwatchable.

Speaking of ratings. I always felt that when Glenn Beck started approaching BOR’s rating level, O’Reily would get rid of him. Guess what is happening now.

O’r jumped the shark so long ago the shark has already died of old age. What did it for me was when he trashed the Swift Boaters, although I’ve always found him abrasive and annoying. Since trashing the Swift Boaters, he’s been on the wrong side of a lot of the issues. I categorize him in the “moonbat media” group of show hosts. Why his ratings are so high, I just don’t know.

Dennis Miller is good, but I seldom watch because it’s not worth wading through the rest of the show to get to the Miller Time segments.

After all, "first things first" right?

O'Reilly is a self serving hypocrite.

The self serving part is fine IMO.

I’m with you Miz, but I remember my aged aunts all love the guy. Frankly, I can’t stand the putz. This was a moron who used to pretend to be a movie critic. He wasn’t any good at that and it was going nowhere, so he figured out this gig with the elderly and mentally incompetent!

Yes, Laura does a much better job than BillO.

And too bad he and Michelle Malkin had the run-in; she was also an excellent guest hostess.

"He is also trying to make sure the WH door is open for future “O” interviews which will naturally boost ratings."

So he can talk about the interview incessantly and quiz all his guests on what they thought about him.

"Dennis Miller is good, but I seldom watch because it’s not worth wading through the rest of the show to get to the Miller Time segments."

But it drives me crazy when O'Reilly constantly interrupts Miller and kills his rhythm just to make some quip that is never funny and usually reveals that O'Reilly didn't get the joke Miller just made. When Miller is on a roll Bill needs to shut up and let him go.
