President Barack Obama’s approval rating and prospects for reelection have plunged to all-time lows in a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

Half of the registered voters surveyed for the poll think that the president does not deserve a second term in office, while 41 percent say he does. In another Quinnipiac poll released just four weeks ago, 45 percent said the president did not deserve reelection, while 47 percent said he did.

The decline in support for a second Obama term comes as his approval rating has dropped 4 percentage points since early March, landing at 42 percent – a record low – in the poll released Wednesday. His disapproval rating has risen from 46 percent to 48 percent.

Polls using registered voters skew to the Dems.

ALL of TV will keep covering for him including Fox. Fox is slight better but they are all covering for him. Keep watching TV cause it supports him.

The state-run media will lay low in the weeds until his approval ratings come up one or two points. They will then trumpet his “soaring” approval rate. If they had any integrity, they would be ashamed of their blatant bias.

Prostitutes and liberal journalists have no shame. But I repeat myself...

45 percent said the president did not deserve reelection, while 47 percent said he did

In related news, 47% of of the people questioned in this poll are totally clueless and apparently enjoy their country being flushed down the toilet by a socialist egomaniac.

It might be good news but when one considers the complete ineptitude of this administration, especially in his economic policy which has done NOTHING to lessen unemployment, or promote growth, you have to wonder how it is possible his approval ratings are not in the 20’s.

“45% of ALL Americans support him”

They are too busy watching Dancing with the Stars to be bothered by the news of the day...got to dig to find the REAL news; they won’t do it...

This pollster has a tendency to over poll democrats. They're usually pro left compared to Rasmussen. If Oboma is failing in this poll, it's great news for the United States.

It would not surprise me to see it bottom out at 40%. A sad commentary on what has happened to America.

That 40% will vote for anyone who promises them an extra dollar in their welfare check.

50% disapprove yet we are supposed to believe he would beat all GOP contenders.

When gas is sitting at $5/gallon and unemployment at 9% in October of 2012, the voters are going to run him out of town on a rail. Someday he'll be a footnote to history, a bad dream.

I just hope the GOP has a decent candidate who will actually do decent things when elected. Not spectacular things, just the right things.

I heard there's going to be a lot of lay offs this summer. Oboma is also cutting oil imports by 30%.(Washington Post)

"The rest are turning on him based on their gasoline and grocery bills."

I don't think the monetary super-tanker can be turned around before the election, so I think this effect is a baked-in benefit for us. It may be primarily Bernanke's fault (monetary policy), but it is secondarily 0bummer's fault (fiscal policy), so the charge of "Inflationist" will logically and correctly stick.

Plus which, Unemployment is still going to be bad. There are very few weak signs of recovery in the jobs market. If you're doing fine but your neighbor is unemployed, you think you're one step out of the unemployment line yourself. And you're right. And 0bamanomics caused that, so the "Job Killer" label should correctly stick to 0bummer.

Further, the nastiness of 0bamaCare just keeps piling up on a daily basis, and people hate it the more time goes on. Democrats are totally incapable of repeal, so this will remain a potent issue.

The Senate is ours for the taking. The incumbents who can lose are almost all Democrats.

0bama seems incapable of taking advantage of the office of the Presidency. When was the last time the country largely nodded in agreement with one of his speeches, much less listened to him?

I'm optimistic!

When's his approval ratings going to be in the 30s already? Just checked Rasmussen. His approval index is at -17. Last week, it was -22. His approval went up?! How the hell?

Gallup has is approval rating at 45%--way too high it seems to me.

Imagine the contents of the future "Barak Hussein Obummer Presidential Library":

Dreams Of My Father (with an introduction by author bill ayers)

The only known copy still in existence of The Audacity of Hope

A print of the fake COLB (with attached note by Katie Couric explaining why "African" is a race.)

A photo of Chris Matthew's tingling leg, and a few assorted papers of lesser importance.

It will all fit inside a drawer within a janitor's closet somewhere in Kenya.

Rasmussen will have him back to 49% in no time...they guy has more teflon in his poll numbers than slick willie jefferson clinton did...

By teflon do you mean "white guilt for a black guy"?
