Archaeologist Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, reports that several of the country's museums have been attacked by looters taking advantage of the political turmoil in the country.
In the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, looters stole jewelry from the museum shop and smashed a statue of Tutankhamun and other artifacts. In a Sinai store containing antiquities from the Port Said Museum, "a large group, armed with guns and a truck, entered the store, opened the boxes in the magazine and took the precious objects. Other groups attempted to enter the Coptic Museum, Royal Jewellery Museum, National Museum of Alexandria, and El Manial Museum," Hawass, who is also a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, posted on his website.
"My heart is broken and my blood is boiling. I feel that everything I have done in the last nine years has been destroyed in one day," Hawass wrote.

Good thing the British Museum refuses to return its Egyptian artifacts.
Hawass should have known this would happen eventually. Soon they will destroy everything in the Valley of the Kings.

I think the scum aren’t even native Egyptians, but Arab Muslims who have bred like filthy rabbits and have displaced the authentic population. What a miserable loss and mess, all because of the filthy Muslims. Since when have such filth ever appreciated anything other than bombs?

Jews assimilate and bring civlization and culture, Christians bring civilization and culture, Buddhists and Sikhs bring civilization and culture, but this filthy race of scum bring nothing but chaos and misery and destruction. So sad. The ancient Buddhist relics of Afghanistan, the long and noble culture of Persia, and now the majesty and glory of ancient Egypt — all despoiled and desecrated by the tantrums and greed of inbred bigoted ignorant savages.
What makes it even more appalling is the way these savages are coddled and excused by so called “intelligent” and “compassionate” liberals.

I keep getting the inkling that if Mubarak is thrown off, it may well end up being for the better. Mubarak has been running a country as a dictatorship, against a people that don’t need ot be dictated to. He’s kept the country in a ‘state of emergency’ when it didn’t need ot be for so long that it’s likely that the people are FED UP and are on the rampage as a result. It’s like how we’ve been here in the US, only we voted the liberal scum out and caused shock to them. We didn’t riot though.
The Taliban routinely blows up statues in Afghanistan whenever they can cobble together enough explosives and volunteers to come out into Predator sites.
The Muslim Brotherhood feels the same way about the infidel monuments of ancient Egypt...
