That’s what I want to know. Are the Redumbs even aware of this?
That's not to say that it will go away; there's too many criminal invaders and foreign supporters and too many $$$ being funneled to politicians to keep these assholes pouring across our borders.
My personal feeling is that anyone along the border who is a property owner should shoot trespassers on sight. Make them take the routes that are protected for them by the Federal Government, which ignores our Laws and won't do a thing about it.
Somebody should let the tea party know of this in case they are not aware.
We HAVE to keep knawing and sawing away these idiots in power until we have a fresh bunch of INTELLIGENT, HONEST, FORTHWRIGHT representatives that DO NOT sneak and hide and manipulate and con and steal and RUIN THIS COUNTRY!! These corrupt and incompentent bastards and bastardettes need to GO HOME and destroy their own families and leave ours alone!! I am so ticked off I could just scream!! It’s like being knawed to death by a bunch of ducks.
Let’s get one thing straight. These scum in D.C. are corrupt bastards. They care NOTHING for the little guy. who’s working his a$$ off to pay his taxes - direct or indirect. They will continue to ruin an already ruined nation because these “little people” allow it I doubt that they would do anything about it even if they saw their children starving to death. Do any of you see a change in Xmas this yr? Seems like many less parties, decorations or enthusiasm. It seems the fall of Rome.
*PING* in case it is as bad as it seems at first glance...?
I live in AZ...the recent shooting of the Border Patrol Officer followed the firing of weapons by the Border Patrol of BEAN BAGS....friggin’ BEAN BAGS....of course the return fire from the immigrant criminals was from AK-47s....killing our officer. Our government has lost it’s ever loving mind!!
NumbersUSA would be all over this bill if Reid has put this provision in another bill. I remain skeptical about the assertion that the DREAM Act is not dead. If the DREAM Act is not dead, NumbersUSA has been caught off guard. Statements from the pro amnesty groups also is not consistent with the DREAM Act still having a chance. Perhaps the pro illegal lobby is part of the deception.
I think that the most effective way to reach the end we want, drastic reduction of illegals in this country, the best way is to put pressure on employrers to make sure illegals are not hired and landlords to make sure that illegals are not housed. This can be done with state and local laws.
Lighten up a tad. I do not believe you meant Mike Pence or Jim Demint or Paul Ryan amongst others.
What’s the CR?
I don’t understand what you’re getting at here. H.R.5281 was the bill that was voted on in the Senate today. The text you show in your post is from that bill and it’s dead.
Here we go again... DREAM act round III-— And it looks like it will pass.
I think this is the version of the Nightmare Act they voted on today: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=111&session=2&vote=00278
The bill numbers are both HR 5281.
I am no expert, but I think this may be correct:
“The Senate has dealt what almost certainly is a fatal blow to the DREAM Act for the 111th Congress.
Senate action in relation to the DREAM Act occurred on Saturday morning, December 18, 2010, when it failed to invoke cloture (thus, shutdown the debate) on a motion by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) that the Senate concur in a House amendment to the Senate amendments to H.R. 5281, a measure that now constitutes the text of the House-passed version of the DREAM Act. The affirmative votes of 60 of the Senate’s 100 members were needed in order to invoke cloture on the measure. The Senate failed to do so by a vote of 55-41. Four senators did not vote, all of whom would have voted against invoking cloture had they been present. Unless a dramatic turnaround in the minds of a number of senators occurs in the next several days, the DREAM Act will die at the end of the 111th Congress”
If you read through the earlier posts on this site you will see they were 3 or 4 bills floating around at one time, but I think the only one that made it to the senate was the one referred to above.
The continuing resolution, which allows the government to continue operating and spending money. Remember last week they pulled the Omnibus spending bill? That was the appropriations bill for 2011 (which actually started in October). Without an appropriations bill, or a CR, the government isn’t funded. The CR just authorizes spending at last year’s level. They will have to pass another CR (they are working under a brief one right now) to get the government through to the third week in January, when the new Congress convenes. If he slipped it into a CR, that is where it will be.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
oh, man.
Thanks for explaining this to us. I cannot take anymore “Dream Act” votes.
So, in a nutshell, any reference to a Dream Act in the CR is irrelevant since nothing has passed the Senate? Is that correct?
Thanks. I hope you’re right.
