Barack Obama loves to portray himself as a compassionate humanitarian.
Assuring justice and avoiding unnecessary punishment is such an obsession, he would have us believe, that he opposes detaining those participating in acts of war against the U.S. He even insisted on a civilian trial in New York for the man who confessed to masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks.
But Obama's compassion does have its limits.
There's one distinguished U.S. Army officer and physician who appears to be headed to prison soon.
He hasn't committed any crimes.
He has served his country honorably in foreign wars.
His reviews by superiors were all impeccable.
Yet, he is headed for a court-martial and a likely prison sentence and discharge because he wanted to ensure he was upholding the oath he took as a commissioned officer to support and defend the Constitution.
Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin wanted to determine with certainty that the president who was ordering him deployed to another foreign war was actually constitutionally eligible to serve in office.

Exactly! Whether or not our experiment in self rule succeeds depends entirely upon good will of honest citizens to make it work.
Some have claimed that the Constitution failed to exactly and precisely define the term “natural born citizen”. Hog slop! The Constitution could be the size of the IRS code and evil people would still find ways to pervert the meaning of “is”.
The most tightly crafted laws will never coral evil. Evil seeps through the smallest cracks in any contract.
There is still plenty that citizens could do without resorting to violence. Sadly...We are not even doing that.

Lakin wasn't ordered to Afghanistan, he was ordered to report to his brigade commander's office located in the D.C. are and to report for duty with a unit in Kentucky.

The charges against Lieutenant Colonel Lakin don’t mention Obama and the Military Judge has already ruled that Obama has nothing to do with this trial. Lakin’s civilian attorney has said that the Judge ruled correctly on that issue.

WHO ordered the extra 30,000 troops to go to Afghanistan. Very simple question even to a “fifth column”???

In SJ Res 23 Congress gave sole authority to “the President” to decide to use force in the war on terror.
Article 92, the article regarding orders by commissioned officers, says that a “lawful order” must be given by someone properly authorized to give “such an order”.
The orders that Lakin disobeyed were all contained within his order to deploy - a Temporary Change of Station that was to begin by him reporting to KY.
If Joe Biden is the only one who can “act as President” and he didn’t order the 30,000 additional troops, then the brigade commanders were not authorized to issue those deployment orders.
So it is CRITICAL to know which guy is Constitutionally authorized to “act as President” and thus authorized by Congress (in SJ Res 23) to order the use of force. If it’s Joe Biden, then the brigade commanders were never properly authorized to issue those deployment orders, because Joe Biden opposed the surge.
