BORN IN THE USA? Officer's brother: 'Obama could have made this all go away'

An attorney-doctor from Kansas whose brother is scheduled for a court-martial says President Obama could, if he chose, resolve the dispute virtually without effort.

Greg Lakin, whose brother is Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, told talk radio show host Peter Boyles on KHOW radio in Denver that it would be "easy."

"It could have been an easy fix. Obama could have stepped up and done the honorable thing and made this all go away," Greg Lakin said in the interview this week. "Just some type of showing, 'Hey, I was born here … here's some proof.'"

WND reported a new trial date has been announced by the military for Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, the career Army doctor who decided to refuse an assignment to Afghanistan because of his concern that the orders he was issued in a chain of command headed by Barack Obama were not legal.

According to attorney Neal Puckett, who has represented Lakin since a military judge ordered Lakin could not have access to any information about President Obama's eligibility, the trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 14 and run for three days.

He confirmed to WND that there will be new directions for the defense but could not elaborate.

"All I can really say is the case is going to be handled differently from here on out," he said.

Greg Lakin said he fears the military, which he said never has had to confront the possibility that a president may not be eligible and his orders then may be illegitimate, may take the easy way out and simply lock up his brother.

Simply showing a legitimate copy of his long form birth certificate that allegedly would show he was born in HI would only prove 1 thing...that he is in fact a "citizen." Fine. He can be a Senator, a Rep, a Governor. He could be anything but the POTUS (or VP). To be POTUS, the Constitution requires one be a "natural born citizen."

Barry was born a subject to the crown of her majesty the Queen of England, inherited from his foreign father (by birthright - assuming Sr. was his legal father at birth). At best he was born with dual allegiance, dual citizenship. No way he was then, or is now a "natural born citizen" as known or intended by the framers.

How Can A Natural Born Citizen's Status Be "Governed" By Great Britian?

When the new Congress begins in January, the first order of business for the House should be to pass a Bill calling for Obama to release his records. The tea party members in the Senate should also push a Bill.

Let's watch the Democrats try to block it.

The Republicans should continue to push the issue until 2012.

Is is possible for a House committee to subpoena these records? Long Form Birth Certificate, Barry's school records, etc?

If Obama today showed his long form birth certificate, this does not make the case go away. He will still be charged with UA. I am not sure what his brother is talking about. Maybe he meant prior to his brother deciding not to go to Iraq/Afghanistan.

It would prove he was a citizen at birth.

But...He was adopted by an Indonesian man and lived in Indonesia. Did Obama go through the normal process of repatriation? Did he travel on a foreign passport? Did he claim foreign citizenship to gain entrance to college? Did he accept scholarships claiming to be a foreign student?

I think it was yesterday or the day before, But on Brett Baer's show when 0 was in Indonesia, reporter Jim Engle was telling Brett that, "when little Barry Obama was in Idonesia", I almost dropped the channel changer. FoxNews is keeping the illusion alive. The 0 was not Barry Obama in indonesia, he was Barry Sotero. Get the facts straight FoxNews. Quit reporting the lies. Start asking how long he was known as Barry Sotero or was he known as Barry Sotero when he was registered as a foreign student to get foreign aid.

Hussein could be from Mars and it won't matter at all. He was sworn in as President. He is President and Commander in Chief.

Because Lakin is a senior officer it is even more important to make an example of him. Guilty of missing movement and disobeying an order. Give him hard time and forfeiture of all pay and allowances.

Military court is not the place to solve political problems. We do not want the military to even appear to remove a President from office, which can only be done via impeachment or electoral defeat.

None of these actions have any effect at all on an American's citizenship status.

Might raise some very good questions about integrity and so forth, but wouldn't affect legal status of citizenship.

Dual citizenship is not legally recognized by the US. I could acquire Mexican, Chinese, Zimbabwean and Peruvian citizenship, and it wouldn't change my status as a US citizen unless I specifically and legally renounced my US citizenship.
