What Should I Do? (Vanity- want opinions

Posted on 03/22/2010 3:37:32 PM PDT by God luvs America

I am looking to my Freeper family for advice. After the events of yesterday and the calls for civil obedience I am really torn what I should do. I and my wife are gainfully employed. I work for myself and often work six to seven days a week. Like just about all of my Freeper family, my wife and I pay our mortgages, taxes and all our bills in time. We paid to pay our student loans on time. We’ve never taken a nickel of government assistance during our adult working lives though we’ve paid into the system from the word go. We live within our means, sacrifice to make ends meet and give to charity when we can and sometimes when we can’t.

Since September I’ve had a series of different medical tests as my dad past away from a stroke last July. These were preventive measures. Our family has always had insurance which we pay a hefty premium for. One set of tests the doctor sent me a bill of $300 which represented my deductible/coinsurance. I promptly paid it.

I received another bill today for a procedure completed last September and the hospital is asking for another $300 on top of the almost $1900 the insurance company paid out.

Usually I would pay this but after the arrogance, corruption, cronyism and kick backs which culminated in yesterday’s vote I am having second thoughts. I am SICK and TIRED of paying for people who over extend themselves and take on obligations they have no way or no intention to payback besides paying for myself and my family. I understand everyone needs a helping hand at some point and don’t mind helping those people or helping the hopeless…I REFUSE TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR THE FREELOADERS!!!

I really want to send the bill back to the hospital and tell them that, as someone who pays for his insurance besides paying for entitlement programs I’ve never received a dime from, they can now send this bill to the US Capital, attention Nancy Pelosi, and tell Pelosi to take the $300 they want from me from the funds they use to for the entitlement programs…the ones I have paid for all my life!!!

I am reeeallllly aggravated and don’t want to pay this bill based on the greed and belligerence I saw and heard from the elitists yesterday. Thoughts? Thank You.

I wonder how big a pile $300 worth of pennies would make? Loose of course, so someone would have to count them...

THAT would make a statement!

It looks like you received two bills, and your insurance co. paid their share of each one, leaving you with your deductable. There’s no indication that others benefitted from any of this—why would you bring that up? This is only between you and your insurance co. Pay the bill.

Call them and negotiate a price. A lot of places will talk to you about it. But, you should pay the bill. My income depends on it. We are not all dirtbags.

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s. And pay your debts on time. Will get you screwed by the world, but integrity is doing the right thing when it really, really sucks.

The more difficult point, however, is what to do about fines that fund abortion. Despite Zero’s claims that he and the rat congress are partners with god in matters of life and death (I’m pretty sure the name of their god begins with an S or a B or an A or something like that), sacrificing infants for the convenience of the mother is no different than sacrificing infants to Molech. On the other hand, when Jesus made his point on taxes that money was going for equally despicable things. That one is going to take me a while to think on.

The IRS eats cute schemes like this for breakfast. It’s a good start, though.

“There’s no indication that others benefitted from any of this..”

I had a doctor explain to me the high cost of an operation that I had about 15 years ago (mostly covered by insurance). He said it was to cover those on medicare (aide??) and those that could not or would not pay their bill. I asked him what he thought my $4000 surgery was really worth. About $2500 he figured. He said “Don’t let anybody tell you that we don’t have socialized medicine in America.” (This was about the time of Hillarycare).

Resubmit, resubmit and then resubmit. Oddly enough this often works. I explained on a previous thread the idiocy that is medical billing. You never know when the person on the other end will just pay to keep from having to process the paperwork.

If or when they threaten action work out a payment schedule and hope they go broke.

Can you send back the bill with a copy of his death certificate and state the estate is settled, there is nothing to pay it with?

You are tempted to go over to the dark side and become like “them”? Is that really a choice, or merely an official statement about going home where your soul already resides?

Verify the accuracy and legitimacy of the charges. Then pay what you truly owe. Moses, Joseph, and Daniel were of great stature in the palaces of the world’s kings precisely because they were unlike the others. IOW, they were righteous. They had their troubles. God delivered them out.

Pelosi is a pig. Sending her the bill is the same as sending it to pharaoh’s taskmasters, who will extract the charges by beating and whipping your fellow citizens. And you too.

Continue to pay your bills, continue to pay your taxes and get involved at every level of government. Go to your city hall public meetings and stand up and speak up and tell the government how you feel. Run for office if possible, councilmen, alderman, or volunteer for their staffs, Write letters to your congress people, write letters to editors, dedicate time to educate others on the problems that a nanny state causes, campaign against the entitlement society, get involved in politics at every level, display signs on your lawn, your windows, speak out and every now and then open up your window poke your head out and say, “I am mad as hell and I ain’t gonna take it no more”

and pray.

They’ll be too busy looking for those who have not purchased their heath insurance to notice!

Ask the insurance company for the bill sent to them by the hospital and compare it to the bill you got from the hospital.

Once upon a time I accidently received the bill sent to the insurance company. They paid in full. The bill I received from the hospital added $300 which I was asked to pay. When questioned the hospital said the additional charge to me was to pay for the uninsured.

Time for FR State/Chapter Meet-ups: to peaceably assemble and organize.

Keep your powder dry in the interim.

Pay your bill. This country isn’t dead yet, and the people who want it dead would prefer citizens not pay any of their bills.

Keep the faith.

The bill doesn’t belong to the dad. It belongs to the person that is debating whether or not to pay.
