I'm not a cat fanatic -- I dig all animals.

And I hope they catch the piece of white trash that did this (it's just a hunch) -- the devil-worhipping imbecile with the deadly weapon and...give him his due.

It’s a black cat. The shooter was superstitious.

So was this a 'fluke' or a deliberate attack? Surely, they could find the perp by the arrow.. .and maybe just a bit of finger prints left behind or some DNA.. .or that's right'. This is not a CSI episode; just a neighborhood cat with an arrow through it's back.

How utterly empty and morally bankrupt are so many bodies that inhabit the world; and closer. . .I hope they find the perp.

A friend of mine’s Sheltie was shot with a .22 caliber pellet gun while he was taking him for a walk.

Maybe they should learn to keep the cat at home, in the house.

There are several cats, probably feral but have no way of knowing, that come onto the property and cause problems. They climb under the house and have litters of kittens, the place smells of their spray and urine. No collars or tags that can be seen.

I won’t be using any arrows on them. I use a .22 when I see them and have a clear shot. Next, I’ll start using the 12 gauge. Then SSS. If they’re the neighbor’s cats- tough. Keep ‘em home. But when they go to other’s property and cause problems, then they’re gonna get taken care of.

The only problem with using the arrow is that it can hit them and not kill them, and they can then run away, maybe back home. Why should people whose property is being damaged have to put up with them?

I fully understand the difference between animal cruelty and getting rid of marauding animals. This cat probably fell into the latter category. That’s why it was shot. And I don’t see any collar in the pic. Maybe they took it off to treat it, but how is anyone supposed to know that it’s your poor wittle kitty when it’s far away from your home and tearing up or damaging other’s? Hmmmmm?

While I don’t condone shooting cats with field point arrows,,, what should a person do when the 4 next door neighbors let their cats out at night to pee on my car and scratch it up by jumping up on it?

If you wish to kill something then you do it in the most effective and humane way possible. This was nothing but a case of some idiot with a bow deciding to shoot this cat for the fun of it.......

With that being said, if it was my cat (and I have a cat which chooses not to leave my house nor would I allow it) and it was shot like this, I would hunt the fool down and deliver an ass kicking that he would remember for the rest of his life. And every time he looked in the mirror he would be reminded of me............

Keep your pets at home, fixed, and we will not have to read any more of these stories.

Thank you.

A family member once had a bale of hay set up to target shoot his archery stuff.
One arrow flew over the bale and killed a chicken in the neighbors yard.
Pure accident.

So sad. Had a beautiful, gray tabby who used to roam the Wildlife Refuge that our home backed up to. He came home one day with a huge, circular gash out of his shoulder. He survived....but the vet said it was caused by a ‘4-point razor’ arrow. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE and grew up in a family of hunters.....but this is just sick.
