[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.]
Large crowd already gathering at the family compound in Bel Air...and Hospital...No surprise there.
They tried to resuscitate him to no avail, TMZ reporting he be dead and one or two other sources reporting dead.
Drudge’s source (TMZ) says that Michael Jackson is dead. The EMT’s never got a pulse after finding him cardiac arrest.
What is truly amazing is that Liz Taylor has outlived him and Farrah.
Actually - depending on when you begin counting - he could be #1. Don’t forget David Carradine.
They are just stalling to get everybody to the hospital before the official announcement. That’s usually how these things go down.
The media knows the truth, but out of respect for the family they are holding off.
Didn’t he have orders to place him in suspended animation if he was to die? They probably have something like that set up for him....

You are so right. No matter how he turned out, or what he believed in, or what he did with children behind closed doors, he was also one hellacious entertainer.
I remember slow dancing to “I’ll Be There”. To this day, it brings back memories of my high school days, and the relative innocence of those times. I get misty-eyed when I hear the song (but not but Mariah Carey).
I hope that somehow he made his peace with God before he passed. He did, after all, bring a lot of joy to a lot of people.

Well put, FS. I don’t share in the GO TO HELL mentality of some of the posters here. Was he a creep - yes. Was he a molester - most likely. Whatever his demons, I would not wish death upon him - I would have preferred he stay alive and answered for his crimes in the criminal justice system. Whatever evils he was guilty of, his Creator will pass judgement upon him, that much is certain.
NY Newsday is now reporting dead...from unconfirmed sources.
No denial from the Jackson family either.
Just once I would have liked to see him dressed in a shirt and tie for his trial or even jeans and a t-shirt during regular life.......But his constant Sergeant Pepper costume really wore thin........

If you cut his heart out, it’s pretty easy to see if it’s still beating or not.
