Sun survey reveals least activity since 1913

Associated Press

WASHINGTON — The sun has been unusually quiet lately, with fewer sunspots and weaker magnetic fields than in nearly a century.

A quiet sun is good for Earth: GPS systems are more accurate, satellites stay in orbit longer; even the effects of manmade global warming are marginally reduced, though just by three-tenths of a degree at most...

No sunspot to heat up the earth. No global warming. Here comes global cooling.

I imagine Algore and his enviroloonie cultists are working on it! This is really screwing up their Cap ‘n’ Trade gig. At this rate, they’re never going to get rich. Stupid old Sun.

The global warmists say never fear, the coldest lack of sunspots is 13 times weaker than anthropogenic greenhouse gases.

I didn’t realize the Sun had been being published for that amount of time.

Those Euro-liberal rags aren’t worth my time anyway. Glad their readership is down!

Y’all were on another thread (if I remember correctly) where this sunspot issue came up. So, I thought I would ping y’all... :-)

The “man-made” global warming hypes just can't admit that it is the Sun and not man's fault the Earth warms and cools. They are, however, having to modify their rhetoric... they still want desperately to believe the lie... morons!

Thank you, Mr. Gore.

I believe the sunspot activity is related to the global warming and global coolilng cycles that we have had throughout history...

If you look up the “Maunder Minimum” on the web... you’ll find information there about the “Little Ice Age” in connection with that, too. This solar minimum that we’re in could result in some dramatic cooling of the planet, instead of so-called “global warming”, as some have been saying. In fact, I would say that it’s pretty “solid” that our warming and cooling spells on this planet (and in the solar system, too) are related to the sunspots and the increase and decrease of them. The so-called “global warming” has nothing to do with “greenhouse gasses” and the CO2 concentrations. It has everything to do with the sunspot activity...

A deep minimum probably drops global temperatures temporarily about two-tenths to three-tenths of a degree Fahrenheit, not nearly enough to make up for global warming, said Tom Woods of the University of Colorado’s atmospheric and space physics lab.

You just knew they were going to throw that in there.

Problem is, I’ve got to leave the party before it gets started. However, I did have to cover the strawberries and the azaleas so the rampant “Global Warming” doesn’t give them frostbite last night and tonight. Freezing in ‘Bama in April... Huh?

“You just knew they were going to throw that in there.”

Yeah... the something as small as the Sun could never compensate for SUV emissions or bovine-flatulence.

The Dateline of the article is Fairbanks, AK. Just had to check the weather up there. 1 degree F last night. (About 14 degrees below average for a low).
