That would mean no hanging Chads
Plus, the populace will really get "Gun Smoking" when Obama loses by a landslide.
And he will.

“it is going to be one big, across the aisle, love fest with the Democrats”
We’re going to get Schwarzeneggered pretty bad if McCain wins. I’d rather roll the dice with J-Mac than the Obammunist, provided that McCain has a conservative VP. If McCain does not do this, I have no argument to convince skeptics to vote for him, though I personally will.

Its a ONE PARTY lovefest in the Senate.
More like a one party orgy, but same difference.

I would have expected nothing else from McCain. It looks good for him to be gracious even as his campaign runs some tough ads. We know he takes pride is “reaching out” to the other side, for better or worse, so it is no surprise he would have kind words for Biden even as the latter trashes McCain over this 7 homes nonsense.
I think we are just lucky Obama picked Biden, and maybe McCain feels the same way. Kaine or Bayh would have delivered their states’ electoral votes to the Dems while Biden ads essentially nothing.

Having Mayors Kwame Kirkpatrick and Antonio Villaraigosa at the convention would still be a problem, isn’t it? Or maybe not.

"....find a quote where McCain is praising a conservative or calling one 'friend'....."Ditto that!My main problem with McCain is his tone deafness in knowing who his friends are. Biden is all set to verbally stomp McCain.
The saving factor is Joe's runaway mouth.

I’m less concerned with RAT VP pick than McQueeg’s. If it isn’t a bona fide conservative he will lose.

You’ll recall it was Ronald Reagan’s display of temper that got him elected.

People with class do not make personal attacks Your positive assessment is a 'glass half full' perspective. If you look at the 'glass half-empty' version you wonder what's taken so long and question whether guys like Biden and McCain who've been around a long time aren't a part of the problem.
DU, Moveon, Daily Kos all lack class
This is a curiosity when you think how long congess was democrat-controlled when compared to republican. And during our recent tenure we haven't even begun to accomplish things like, I don't know, smaller government? Secure border- immigration control? Energy independence? Imagine what they'd act like if we had.
As we're seeing with energy, it's very possible the left has blocked attempts at making conservative reforms all these years. If so, making 'friendly' with them seems GooFee (for my Chinese friends) at best. However, voting in November will evolve around pocketbook and wallet issues as it often does which causes me to be optimistic.
It helps my optimism when my glass is half-full of beer.

Well, from my point of view, it is a wise choice. But then, I want the Democratic ticket to be as big a train wreck as it possibly can be. I would have thought Obama had a more self-preserving take on the situation.
