The contemporary reports from the time seem to support the notion that Biden’s extreme discomfort during the hearings for SCOTUS was emergent and the doctors found visible leakage in the brain at the base.

The specific nature of the repair, patching, clipping or balloon therapy doesn’t seem to be readily available through a Net search.

Supposedly it was a berry type of aneurysm which commonly causes some damage to surrounding brain tissue, but that is an issue you would have to take up with his doctors.

Having reached the ten year point post-surgery decreases the odds of a recurrent incident but this is the stuff of actuaries.

I'm suggesting that it is possible that the aneurysms and/or the effects of his surgeries might be responsible for his frequent peculiar statements. I don't think that brain tissue normally grows back if it has been damaged.

Seven months seems an awfully prolonged recovery from uncomplicated surgery. If he required seven months to recover, it suggests that there had been a significant amount of damage.

I was under the impression that the results of McCain's neuropsychological testing battery had been released. What about Biden's? I'll believe he suffered no long-term effects when they post the proof of his medical records on their website. Which I imagine we can expect sometime after they post Obama's complete medical records.

I think he’s a good selection for Obama. :-)

Is it just me, or is Biden hugging just a tad low?

Hey ari-freedom,

If you are going to plug McCain, at least keep up with his positions on the issues.

He supports Embryonic Stem Cell Reseach so that sorta invalidates the whole “At the moment of conception” comment, unless, of course, McCain was just saying what he thought everyone in a church would want to hear.
