Obama birth certificate mystery solved?

Could it be a case of much ado about nothing? Doug Ross thinks so. Questions have been raised about the copy posted on the Daily Kos site bore a state seal embossed.

..one of Pamela Geller's readers did some heavy-lifting with Photoshop and discovered what appears to be an embossed seal on the back of Obama's certificate.

Ross writes:

I was startled because I had carefully reviewed the image weeks ago and not seen any clue of a signature or embossed seal. I spent some time this morning playing with various graphics settings until I was able to tease a similar image out of the scan.

It certainly appears to be legitimate.

I know there is a lot of controversy and back and forth on absence of an official seal on Obama's birth certificate. Atlas reader Joe aka Jointhehunt5Yaser has been blowing up the birth certificate (lifted off Obama's Fight the Smear site) and there is a seal image there.

I flipped it over, cut it and put it next to the seal from Patrica Decosta birth certificate. I think it is a seal, if not, for sure it is an image of something. I used an older version on adobe and came up with the image. Do you know anyone who is a pro in finding hidden imaging's like this? Because if it is a real seal where is the signature stamp? I couldn't find any signature stamped on it like the decosta certificate has. This is an image of something and a pro can get it more visible.

Using adobe photo shop Joe used overlay 9% black then went over the area where the date is stamped on lower middle. and a image started to appear above the date.

So I used - filter, stylize, find edges.

An image that could be an official seal appeared.

And while the Israel Insider opined, "Nothing else explains why Obama's campaign refused to release the original paper document, to make this distracting controversy go way"

Because Hollyfield is right about one thing:

"If this document is forged, a U.S. senator and his presidential campaign have perpetrated a vast, long-term fraud."

U.S. citizens who have written to Israel Insider or have posted on the Internet are not satisfied. Ordinary people are compelled to produce certified paper birth certificates to get a passport or a driver's license. Why, people are asking, doesn't Obama needed to show one to run for President?

But I believe the Obama campaign would deliberately keep such a question alive to diminish the veracity of the real scandals Obama is guilty of (Rezko, Auchi, Wright, Nation of Islam, Malley, Powers, Odinga, corruption, lies etc.)

The Israel Insider has another article on the lack of veracity of Obama's birth certificate based on the absence of a seal, but it's there.

So where is that birth certificate? It got lost? The dog ate it? No matter. Barack Obama or an immediate family member can plunk down $10 ($11.50 if he orders online) and have Hawaii mail a certified document to him within a week or two. But more than two weeks have passed since the Obama campaign adopted the suspect, uncertified image of a purported birth document published by a left-wing blog Daily Kos, and nothing certified and nothing on paper has since has been forthcoming. Nor has there been any official comment about the issue from the campaign. They may cling to the hope -- however audacious -- that the one issue that could disqualify their man constitutionally from gaining the presidency will just go away.

Amy Hollyfield of the St. Petersburg Times, and a reporter for the paper's "Politifact" blog, said that she has been seeking the birth certificate "for months." She was frustrated: "Hawaii birth certificates aren't public record. Only family members can request copies, so when the campaign declined to give us one, we were stalled."

Finally, the campaign released the image (resembling the one at the top of this article). Hollyfield e-mailed it to the Hawaii Department of Health, which maintains such records, to ask if it was real.

"It's a valid Hawaii state birth certificate," spokesman Janice Okubo told us. Then the firestorm started.

Made the mistake of letting my driver's license expire a few years ago, past 6 months...my "copy" of my birth certificate wasn't good enough to renew with, despite I'd had a licence for 30 years, and all kinds of other ID. My Mom had to go to the county records office where I was born (and they still live), get a new "copy", and get it notarized (the copied notary seal on my copied original was not acceptable)...

I would not make too much out of BHO's birth certificate unless it's obviously "fishy" (which it very well could be...we'll stay tuned!) but what I'd really like to know is, what about his dear old Mum?! Someone called in to C-Span the other a.m. and mentioned that...and I realized, it's true we hear nothing ever about his mother (God rest her soul, but her boy IS running for President...)

I doubt there is anything at all to this birth certificate thing . It’s making us look like fools and we’re not concentrating on the 100 other real reasons why this clown needs to be defeated.

It is not true that only family members can request copies.

ANYONE can request a copy, but you need a signed permission from the person whose BC you are requesting.

All Obama would have to do is sign such permission and let some responsible media people, like O’Reilly, request one from Hawaii.

Several others, right here on Free Republic, illustrate the differences in the borders.

However, the most telling point of all as far as I’m concerned is expert analysis (again detailed in several threads here) that both versions were completely computer generated, when it was confirmed by the Hawaiian official that certified copies of Birth Certificates are NEVER computer generated, they are printed on paper stock.

There is indeed something fishy here. If its all above board it would cost Obama all of $10 to get a new, properly stamped and signed one, issued.

I believe it is there also... it is not coming through as strong as the decosta cert but a negative image of the Dailykos Obama cert is picking up something just under the Jun 6 2007 date along the top of the border. The yellow green spots are pulling out darker areas that are bleeding through from the back of the cert. to the front of the cert.


BTW... I am not that blogger or the person who created the bloggers images. I just know how to do exactly what they did.

I agree with the person who said this is a set up by the Obama Camp. The cert is real and there is nothing that points to it being a fake. It is time to move on!
Maybe 2 years after the 2005 decosta cert the darn embossing machine plate is wore out or maybe the person who uses the embossing machine has carpel tunnel syndrome from embossing certs all the time :-)

You are way behind... The 2 folds have been found on the Obama cert. Which proves it is not a electronic submitted version of it. It is a scan of a folded cert that was put into a jpg file.

There is nothing wrong with the fonts. The basketweave paper and border is printed at security paper company using copper plates on a printing press. The basketweave bordered paper is them sent to Hawaii and they drop the sheets in a laser printer and print out everything else, (this is why the fonts have spray around them but the border does not) The the REV info is also printed by the laser printer. Then it is stamped with an embossing seal, sig seal, and date stamped with a ink date stamp.

If you want to verify this start reading the Obama cert threads, all of them. Or copy the Obama cert image on your computer and do some zoom viewing yourself on the cert.

Ok, let's assume that Obama’s doc is real. All other valid certificates say “Date Accepted by State Registrar”. Obama’s says “Date Filed by Registrar”. That must be explained.

Yes Obama needs to produce his original BC, we know he has it because it wrote that he did find it in his book.

Good point. I've seen more than one newly-issued cert (genealogy) where you could barely make out the embossed seal with the naked eye, and so it literally disappears on a scanned copy.

The very first cert is the dailykos one, Then 1 day later the Obama smear one showed up. They are the same image of the same cert. The Obama smear one was just reduced in size from off the dailykos one.

Then some smart@ss from the dailykos named opendna decided to clean off the Obama smear version file of the cert. He made 2 versions.

If you do some research on the dailykos for 2 posters named opendna and corvo, you will learn alot about these 2. opendna has crossed paths with corvo and opendna named one of the Obama certs with corvo name. Both are on opendna’s photobucket site.

I’ll tell you what... click on my user name and find my posts for the last 2 days about this cert stuff.
