I quote Wm. F. Buckley: I will support the most right-ward candidate in any election who has a legitimate chance to win.

Therefore, I will support (and even work for) McCain, Rudy, Romney, Huck, Fred, anyone but Paul who I see as utterly NOT rightward in any way.

Oh, I didn’t vote for him in the primary. Forget who I did vote for.

Of course I will...and anyone who loves this country will vote for any of the top 5 Republicans should they receive the nomination.

Conservatives don't let Democrats win elections. They vote Republican.

If Romney wins the nomination, Fred Thompson will support him. If Mike Huckabee wins the nomination, Rudy Giuliani will support him.

Fake conservatives sit out elections or vote third-party.

Anyone who can look at this crop of Democrats and contemplate wasting their vote by staying home or voting for a determined also-ran is a hideous traitor to the conservative cause.

Grow up, disgruntled FReepers.

I’m hoping for a contested convention and the selection of an “exciting” conservative Governor.

Is there one in the race?

Yes. Because I will vote for the Republican, and will not let my vote get split.

And those of us who vote 3rd party will enable the Dems to win.

But I’m recently thinking that 4 years of the Dems may not be a bad thing in the long run, because a disasterous liberal term will enable the conservative party to regain its strength and possibly take over the WH and Congress/Senate 4 years after that.

Forget about the clothespin over the nose - I would have to go to MOPP level 4, but I would vote for anyone who had a chance over the Hildebeast. However, if the writing was on the wall that Ohio was a sure thing one way or another I would quickly defect to a third party.

When I watched McCain on Meet the Press Sunday he sounded like someone I could vote for... if only he didn't have many, many years of a record of doing exactly the opposite of what he was talking about.

people are not thinking, the REAL question is:

WHICH CANDIDATE HAS THE MOST COAT TAILS?

so far none of the front runner get money OR help OTHER conservatives get elected.

Voting third party this late in the game just splits the vote and will put Hillary in office for sure. If we want a third party, start it immediately after the elections and work it to build it up. Won’t be easy but to do it now would give Hillary the votes she needs.

Well, lets see, we get McCain with pretty much the same politcal leanings as our current president, with two noted differences.

1.) He doesn’t wear his religion on his sleave.

2.) He’s a budget hawk.

I could vote for McCain.

The way the canidates are shaping up however it looks like,

Mitt: Religious Conservatives, evengilicals sit out
Huck: Core conservatives sit out
McCain: Evengilicals sit out
Guiliani: Evengilicals sit out

Of those four from what I’ve read I’d vote for McCain, I wouldn’t be happy about it, but I’d vote for him.

I’d have to with my nose held, but would.

Also worried about what HE would do concerning increasing the capital gains tax (i.e.: from 15% to 30%). Especially with a Dem Congress.
