>>I’m of the opinion that congressional RINOs would collude with a RINO President, causing much more damage to the country than congressional RINOs facing a DemocRAT President.<<

I agree. With Hillary or Obama as President, congressional Dems and RINOs would have no cover. If McCain is to be the GOP's nominee, the broken glass one has to walk over looks a bit too dangerous.

If it comes down to it, I would have to think about it. He may be my least favorite of the R candidates.

He stands for less things I like than any of the R's, he has been responsible for many unspeakably stupid things no Republican should do, he's a Senator, he doesn't have a temperment I like.......

He can't really be our only choice in the end can he?

Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!!

yes, I do, and yes, I understand the point you are making also.

And so while we may not be as conservative as we used to be, I believe that 4 years of bad Democratic leadership could buck up this party to move right again.

It depends on who he picks as VP, and whether there is a Third Party alternative.

If he picks Huck as V.P., I'm looking elsewhere.

I think McCain’s chances of winning the nomination are pretty remote. New Hampshire’s selection needn’t be given too much imortance, if any at all.

Of course I would. The alternative is a socialist in the White House.

Would I vote for him? If he is up against Hillary then Yes. Will I support him - meaning will I show my support with yard signs, bumper stickers, volunteering at the local campaign headquarters, donate, etc like I have done for the GOP since Reagan? NO WAY

NO!

In fact, I will not vote for anyone, other than FRed Thompson or Duncan Hunter. Everyone else can let Conservatism go south if they choose to, I don’t.

Each and every time we vote for a RINO, we are saying we really don’t believe in our own principles enough to stand up for them...and we lose ground.

We are also sending a message to the GOP, who has abandoned us, that we are their sheep.

Only Fred and Duncan have the core beliefs of Conservatism as their platforms.

I will vote for McCain. He is trustworthy on national defence and on pro-life issues. He may even be trustworthy on budget issues insofar as he is not a tax and spend type, but a guy that believes in “smaller” government. That’s two, maybe three, important issues where he is better than Hillary.

I have no trouble voting for him for those reasons you mention. I would feel better if he would express a committment to appoint strict constructionist judges, but I'm pretty sure he would appoint judges who are vastly preferable to Clinton's. He's also clearly ethical - another difference with HRC.

No.

I made a promise that if either McCain or Frudy got the nomination, I would vote for myself or third party.

But he sure appoints the judges that make these laws from the bench.
But hey, if you like Ruth Ginsberg types, so be it.

I don’t know. Just an observation, though. If McQueeg (God forbid) is the nominee, he better choose a young VP. His age and his mental state do not bode well for his completing a full term in office.
