Excerpt from soon to be released Zawahiri tape:
Interviewer: The American Congress recently passed a bill which ties the funding of American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan to a timetable for the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq which ends next March. What is your comment on this resolution?
Zawahiri: This bill reflects American failure and frustration. However, this bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap. We ask Allah that they only get out of it after losing two hundred to three hundred thousand killed, in order that we give the spillers of blood in Washington and Europe an unforgettable lesson which will motivate them to review their entire doctrinal and moral system which produced their historic criminal Crusader/Zionist entity.
Later in the tape, he goes on to say:
Thus, I warn everyone who has helped the Crusade against Iraq and Afghanistan that the Crusaders are departing – by their own admission – and soon, with Allah’s permission, so let him ponder his fate and future.

Contrary to what the West appears to believe, the destructive energy of Islamist actions is directed mainly against Muslims. This is not a tactical error, not a case of “collateral damage”. In Algeria alone, Islamist terror has cost the lives of at least 50,000 fellow Algerians. In Iraq and Afghanistan, too, the number of Muslim victims far outstrips the death toll among foreigners. Furthermore, terrorism has been highly detrimental not only to the image of Islam but also to the living conditions of Muslims around the world.
The Islamists are as unconcerned about this as the Nazis were about the downfall of Germany. As the avant-garde of death, they have no regard for the lives of their fellow believers. In the eyes of the Islamists, the fact that most Muslims have no desire to blow themselves and others sky high only goes to show that they deserve no better than to be liquidated themselves. After all, the aim of the radical loser is to make as many other people into losers as possible. As the Islamists see it, the fact that they are in the minority can only be because they are the chosen few.

Ayman al-Zawahiri, A real piece of work, an organizational genius, and one cold blooded bas*ard. Once had tow young Egyptian boys (who had been blackmailed by Egyptian secret police) that had infiltrated his “Egyptian Jihad”, cut up into little pieces and send back to Egypt.

Beauty needs to simply go back to sleep and leave the war to the adults. Pretty obvious from reading her postings she is not at all intrested in learning any facts about Iraq.
Exactly right - I've long thought we'd do better to call them out publicly on this very real fact. Call them cowards and constantly prod them and the women of their region (Pak border region) that their men are cowards and won't come out and fight....

Problem is, Denthead Ayman, your boys are ending up dead in increasing numbers thanks to our boys and the surge.
So, for once, the Democrats and al-Zawahiri are in disagreement.
I guess it’s just a tactical disagreement rather than a strategic one.
They are subsets of a union. Also, both are given to hyperbole - this terrorists wasnts 200-300k Americans dead for Allah? Barely put a dent in it so far.
