The nation is waiting for these counties to report:

Meagher (MT)
Fairfax City (vA)
Isle of Wight (VA)
Loundoun (VA)

In other words, it's over. No way a recount changes the total by 8000 votes.

True, Allen lost by the number of illegals voting and the number of farmers he screwed on the tobacco buyout.

I never thought I would see my former home of Virginia become a light blue state, at least not this fast. It seems to be easier for a Republican to win a statewide race here in Florida right now than in Virgina.

GOP better start thinking about potential "jeffords" on the Dem side.

I heard the "Perky One" last night gleefully calling them "Social Democrats"

Hey, Libertarians are people too (I think), even if they are inclined to amble aimlessly and be airheaded.

21K absetee ballots out in Montana?

You would think these have to be 60% or better for Burns which would be about 2100 votes.

I saw NBC last night.

I don't see Russert on TV very much, basically only a few times.

Maybe I'm reaching here - but early in the evening he sounded almost thrilled that the Dems were doing so well.

Chafee lost.
I meant current Dem Senators that the GOP can convert to their side.

I think Lieberman could be turned if he was offered enough.

For 15 years, I've followed Virginia politics from afar.

It get the feeling that Virginia will soon become a swing state because of the explosive growth in Northern Virginia.

A lot of the newcomers are govt employees, a group with a vested interest in voting Dem.

Transportation is also a huge issue up there. Getting from Point A to Point B takes longer and truth be told, there's a sizable group of voters who don't mind paying higher taxes for better (and more) roads.

The democrap party media whores are gleeful because they have succeeded in turning this nation's voters into democrap lemmings.

When the Republican party starts realizing that the libertarian part of the 'base' is just as potentially solid and deserves a place at the table as much as the Judeo-Christian culture warriors they might do a little bit better. 'Government' and 'morality' have nothing to do with each other.

Libertarians (albeit moderate ones) were kicked out last night. If that trend continues, the GOP may as well cement a longer term minority status. We need the moderate libertarians.

I think Lieberman is honest and will not be turned by dangling goodies in front of him. He could be turned, perhaps, by consideration of the difference in integrity between the two parties.

Problem is the religious branch of the part won't tolerate anyone who is libertarian. Just seems that way to me. If you say you are for embryonic stem cell research on this forum you are flamed within an inch of your life. I think this really hurt us at the polls.

I think a lot will depend on how the 'Rats treat him now. He may not be influenced by the GOP, but he is also keenly aware of how the 'Rats have treated him the past few months. Politically, he is more in line with the GOP than Lincoln Chafee.
