Tell us what you saw today at your voting place.
My podunk polling place didn't even open until 9 am. I was there at 8 thinking they would be open as was posted on the county website, but then I get there and one of the workers told me they didn't open until 9. So I guess I am going to be REALLLY late to work today. I was the 33rd voter and it took about 25 min.
No wait, but there usually isn't at just after 9AM. I was #54. New electronic voting machines, a little spooky after the old mechanical ones that went "clunk" to register. They all seemed to be working fine.
I don't know if this bodes well or not for Kean -- we're a conservative neighborhood in a gerrymandered Democrat district.
I think it's going to be a long day today. Our polls opened at 6:30 am and I was number 70. The 4 Golden girls I was greeted by are checking drivers licenses and ID's before allowing you to move ahead.
Ping for Blackwell and DeWhine and every other Republican on the ballot!
Voted against every issue except the Smoke less (Issue four)which I voted for!
All I can do now is wait watch and pray for a Republican victory now and more rain.
Where in Virginia?
I'm an Alabama voter as well. :) Good #'s at my precinct.
I voted at 6am this morning here in beautiful downtown Chappaqua. I was #10, but those before me were the poll workers. I jogged the 4 miles up and back to avoid the later confusion, and media when the Clintons descend on Grafflin school. But after, I was doing a bunch of errands around down..breakfast, bank, dry cleaners, supermarket..and each place I cheerfully asked people if they had voted..maybe 20-25 all told..Predominately younger people, under 30, I'd guesstimate, and what really surprised me..in addition to the usual responses of "I've voted" or "I'll go after work," at least HALF told me that they "don't vote", they're "not political", they don't "follow all that political stuff." I was, and still am, astonished...

IF YOU HAVE A VOTING DAY STORY (ANECDOTAL OR OTHERWISE), PLEASE POST IT ON THIS THREAD!
GET OUT AND VOTE A STRAIGHT GOP TICKET TODAY!!!
Id rather not have the uniformed voting anyway.
Small town in Maine, no lines, no waiting. Paper ballots go into the wooden box with a lock on it. Four older ladies to check off names and coffee in the corner for refresment. I love small town living.
Mrs. Sine_Nomine and I voted one hour after the polls opened. There was no line, but checking in was slow. My prediction is that turn-out will be light. The ballot had four sides (and was very long - Arizona). The props were so varied and confusing that my wife and I took prepared cheat sheets. Even then she muffed two votes. Since this was a complete the line ballot, she had them nullify those two votes.
I think interest is rather low, frustration with the voting process high, so I expect relatively few votes overall.
I am still expecting the GOP to hold the Senate and the House with losses in the margin in both places. If things go badly, I hope this will spur real conservatism in the GOP instead of RINO yakking about compassion.
Blacksburg
I have always felt that a large turnout generally means a desire for change
Got to my polling place at 7:05 this morning. Was the 75th person to register my vote and the lines were going out the door across the length of a gymnasium and through the cafeteria.
It's raining in Michigan. :) :)
Clayton, MO (St. Louis suburb) had about a 30-40 minute line for touch screen, 15 minute for optical scan. We had one "high maintenance" but he eventually got through the lines. No problems to report...
One day someone will have to explain how out of thousands of voting machines built and shipped, why only the ones in blue districts don't work correctly.
EXCELLENT!!!!
I arrived at 7:00 when polling place opened. 25 in line ahead of me.
I had to cast a provisional ballot, because the poll records showed that I had requested an advance ballot. My wife got hers, but mine did not show up.
This caused a little confusion among the election workers, they couldn't remember the procedure for casting a provisional ballot
I was able to work them through the process, having previously been a poll worker before running for Congress in 2004.
Overall, the experience was quite fulfilling. It was pleasant to see a out line the door when I left at 7:30.
I saw lots of minority poll workers. Nothing wrong with that.
I was told I had already voted by Absentee Ballot. Ah, but the rub? I never sent it in and I was carrying it with me, still sealed up.
The poll worker said I could vote but that they'd have to take the AB from me, which was no problem. But then I had to go and get it back so I'd know what ammendments to vote for and which judges to throw out. They didn't seem to want to let me have my origianl back temporarily but they relented, I voted, then I gave back the AB. Done deal and a straight R ticket.
Take that Pelosi!!!!
Good, one less votes for the DUmmies.
I voted at a church gym in New Jersey. A Catholic church that is about 300 feet from my back door that I attend every Sunday and my wife tries to make daily Mass each morning.
The church parking lot had almost 20 cars at 6:01 AM. I recognized a few of the ladies manning the polling booths from church. There were 2 districts. I was in district 5 but I was never sure if it was 5 or 3. I started with 5 and found my name in the M-Z list. I signed in and made a point of bringing my passport and showing that I was a US citizen. I didn't need it but I felt it was the right thing to do. The woman who found my name on the voter list was mother of the guy who went to my daughter's senior prom in May and was his boss for their summer job at the local pool. She still asked for spelling of my name.
As I finished voting, I was asked to take a sticker that said "I Voted". So far, it is still on my RED shirt. I heard one of the ladies who has been involved in the polling place for a few years who said it was the busiest she had seen at 6:00 AM before. I was voter #3 on my list but probably in the top 10 for the polling place.
When I voted, I put my finger on the empty box to move a green X to the candidate I wanted to vote for. After making all my selections, I hit the RED button on the bottom of the booth and the lights went out. Not as satisfying as I would like but I know my votes registered and I voted for the candidates I wanted to win. I voted NO for the 3 questions on the ballot in NJ. Lets hope that the GOTV efforts are very successful and that the House and Senate stay in Republican hands.
I have done my duty and now I await the results.
May God continue to bless the United States of America!
Good grief, can't liberals even set an alarm clock????
But there was a steady stream of folks at the polling place.

That's interesting, but what state and county?
Sometimes it can mean a desire to stop a change like a Speaker Pelosi ;-)
Little Wellington, Ohio -
Our precinct opened late because the workers were having problems. When the doors opened, I saw 7 of the new electronic machines in the room but the piles of "cash register" paper flowing out of them and onto the floor seemed to spell trouble. One machine was working and nobody knew how to fix the others. The workers seemed confused and untrained. They didn't know if we needed an ID or not. The woman activating the voting cards kept repeating "what do I do now?". The same woman issued me 2 voting cards. One was turned back in. I can't wait to see the results of this one.
"10 people in line" doesn't tell a story or give meaningful feedback. "10 people in line and normally there are 30 and this is a rat/gop district...."
What's your Take? and is that why the local moonbats daughter is drinking already?
ROFL Smart kid. Stay home. Your Vote wouldn't count anyway....
About 35 people waiting to vote. Largely Demonrat
I voted at 6:05 in Batavia, Illinois (Kane County- pretty heavily Republican county).
As always, I took my Rottie with me. (she stays in the car though)
I was about tenth in line. After a minor hiccup with the computers, all was well.
I left with an "I Voted" sticker, which I gave to my four year old son to wear.
My wife will vote later today with our eleven month old in arm.
Umm...I'm sure you mean uninformed, not uniformed!
I hope all the men and women in uniform get a chance to vote!
Behind me in line was a woman who looked like she'd be at home on DU -I'll let you imagine what she looked like. She was vociferously protesting having to use the machines, and wanted a paper ballot. Alas, no paper ballots available with early voting. I was led away to my voting booth before I got to hear the resolution of her complaints.
I'm pretty fast; didn't vote straight ticket, but only because I like to see the little checks show up next to the pubbie names. I was out in a few moments.
What do I see as I leave the polling place but my friend from behind me in line, huddled with a woman outside the polling station who was holding a sign for a 'rat candidate.
Given that the complaining voter hadn't even started the process when I went to my booth, I suspect the only way she could have gotten out ahead of me in time to get into a conversation is if she walked out without voting, in protest over the lack of a paper ballot.
I smiled...
Saw Hillary and Bill voting on Fox news. She looked like she had just rolled out of bed. Hair was in disarray and her coat was very wrinkled.
Things look good here.
I voted about 45 minutes ago in lower Bucks. It was very busy, more like what I see for presidential elections.
Bill O'Reilly predicted only a 28% turnout of registered voters in New York. No exciting elections. Everyone knows who's gonna win.
Wouldn't it be something if the Dems stayed home and Hillary LOST!!!!
Bawhahahah...Best line I've heard this morn..this has made my day...THANKS FOR POSTING!! :)
#137 here at St. Louis Park Precinct in MN (7:30AM). Straight ticket R, but I think voting for the I in the race against Ellison may have helped (probably not). Long line, but that may have as much to do with fewer voting booths than a Presidential year. Still pretty darn good volume.
Election judges had everything running very smoothly checking ID's and such.
One guy was complaining that it takes too long to fill in ballots with pen and why we don't use markers...not a bad question, but was whiney about it.
My "get out of Iraq" neighbor was walking in as I was walking out.
I hope Devos and Bouchard have a chance but they've got to overcome the good old Detroit fraud machine. (Hopefully the GOP will fight for it this time) In our 7th district we did get rid of RINO Joe Schwarz and replace him with conservative Tim Walberg.
Our moonbat isn't voting because the fact that we're about 85% conservative here means the election was stolen before we even voted. (according to her)
Unfortunately, I can't find my DeVos hat. I was hoping to wear it to classes today, and to the meeting of the college's "Gender Equity Committee," on which I am a student representative.
Voted around 6:45 this morning. There are only 3 machines at this precinct. There were 8 people there at the time, but more people starting to stream in as we were leaving.
I usually vote very early. But... the wife is home from work today and is making me vote with her. Should take all day to get down there.
Our polling place in The Villages, Florida was highly efficient as usual. We are a retirement community of active adults from all over the globe and cover parts of three counties. The Villages is a highly Republican area in all three counties. We had a high percentage of early voting in Florida and this morning's turnout was both steady and high from all appearances. My wife and I showed our picture I.D.'s and were in and out in under 5 minutes. The only people who required any voting assistance appeared to be confused democRATs (Are there any other kind?)
7:05 am Florida Panhandle; people voting, no lines.
Ballots are fill in the broken arrow with pencil and then scanned.
Our local moonbat's father told me that his daughter refuses to vote in the "BushReich farce election". He says she's sitting home getting drunk already. LOL

LOL probably posting on DU as we speak, mixing it with the old Ativan
