The Polls are tightening, and Dems aren't gonna pull it off. This NYT story is just an attempt to get the focus back on the decision for war, which has been a dud after all (as evidenced by current Lamont situation etc.).

so let me see if I have this straight...
There were no WMDs in Iraq, and there is no evidence that Saddam was researching them or working to acquire them, but when evidence of said research is posted publically, it might help other badguys with research, even though there is no evidence of WMDs in Iraq, and the other guys were further along in their nuke program?
Only the New York Times could come up with that story.

So, Iran had no clue how to build a bomb till documents from Iraq were posted on the internet? Is this what we are supposed to believe? That's the big news?
If this is anything remotely like the information the NYTs is referring to, it could easily be turned around on them - if it VERFIES that Iraq was developing nukes prior to the war then it is in GW's favor.
My hunch is that unless there's some concrete information behind this story, which I doubt there is, the idea here is to instigate a "no WMD found in Iraq" and "Bush lied" dialogue in the MSM.
Somebody on this forum has an in,,the Times is being printed right now at its regional offices. And this person, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, could find out right away for us.

So, the IAEA (UN) is feeding anti-Bush info. to the NY Times just before an election. If memory serves, didn't the UN inject itself into the 2004 election as well? I don't recall the details.
that's it? that's nothing. no doubt, the sheeple are dumb, but are they dumb enough to believe that Iran is basing its nuclear development program on some diagrams and equations from a failed iraqi program. in the meantime, Pakistan has had a working bomb for years, and the AQ Khan network has been shopping it for years and years to any takers.
The simple truth was that he DID have a team of scientists who given the go-ahead could have constructed a bomb and missle system in about the same time that Iran has taken. With the embargo lifted, which was bound to happen, he would have been in the same position that Iran is now.
