Some CNN retard was running around with a Hezbollah "press officer" yesterday. He was taking as canon what ever this clown told him. It was sick. I'd be done with CNN if Fox didn't suck so much with breaking stories.

Butch and Sundance are trapped and cornered by the posse on a ledge at the edge of a steep rock canyon with nowhere else to go. Their frequent comic, self-deprecating bantering is a highlight of the film, especially illustrated when they overlook raging rapids fifty feet below and are faced with a choice between a hopeless shoot-out and a near-suicidal leap:

Butch: DAMMIT! Well, the way I figure it, we can either fight or give. If we give, we go to jail.

Sundance: I been there already.

Butch: But if we fight, they can stay right where they are and starve us out or go for position - shoot us; might even get a rockslide started and get us that way. What else could they do?

Sundance: They could surrender to us, but I wouldn't count on that. (He watches the posse maneuver.) They're goin' for position, all right. Better get ready. (He loads his gun.)

Butch: Kid - the next time I say, 'Let's go someplace like Bolivia,' let's go someplace like Bolivia.

Sundance: Next time. Ready?

Butch: (looking into the deep canyon and the river far below) No, we'll jump.

Sundance (after looking down): Like hell we will.

Butch: No, it'll be OK - if the water's deep enough, we don't get squished to death. They'll never follow us.

Sundance: How do you know?

Butch: Would you make a jump like that you didn't have to?

Sundance: I have to and I'm not gonna.

Butch: Well, we got to, otherwise we're dead. They're just gonna have to go back down the same way they come. Come on.

Sundance: Just one clear shot, that's all I want.

Butch: Come on.

Sundance: Uh-uh.

Butch: We got to.

Sundance: Nope! Get away from me!

Butch: Why?

Sundance: I wanna fight 'em!

Butch: They'll kill us!

Sundance: Maybe.

Butch: You wanna die?!

Sundance: (waving his pistol at the river far below) Do you?!

Butch: All right. I'll jump first.

Sundance: Nope.

Butch: Then you jump first.

Sundance: No, I said!

Butch: What's the matter with you?!

Sundance: (wildly embarrassed) I can't swim!

Butch: (guffawing at his partner) Why, you crazy - the fall'll probably kill ya!

LOL

Sitting through Superman Returns (seemingly) 4 hour, 47 minute running time is torturous! Be careful!

I have a friend in the CGI business who has been bugging me to see this with him because everyone else at his work (non-Hollywood) talks about it. Some friend! I ain't seein' that thing. I don't even like Superman, too dull.

if i'm not mistaken, the ordnance that took out zarqawi was one of the new cement bombs that had been tested because of its contained effect making it safer to use in densely populated areas.

NBC confirming the bombing and reporting Israel has said it was a very significant attack. It was the "NERVE CENTER" for Hezzbollah in southern Beirut.

Superman I and II are great. Superman III is much reviled but it's better than the film in theaters now. It's a ponderous, plodding film. You aren't missing anything.

Very good news. I suspect their intelligence was so good that the got their quarry.

I understand that Israel has the most effective HUMINT operations in the world.

It's a start, but 23 tons, coming as a bunch of bombs, isn't all that much. If you told me 23,000 tons, or even 230 tons, then I'd say you had a pretty good chance of a kill.

The guys who design these bunkers know what they're doing - some of Saddams were designed to take a direct hit from a nuke, say 250 kt or so - and I'm sure the same engineers doing the Iranian and/or Syrian underground complexes designed and built these. Now, if the German engineers gave the Israelis the plans, maybe they knew where to drop the bombs.... But seriously, 23 2,000 lb bombs only seems like a lot to a layman. Really hard targets take much more pounding.

"How does 23 tons compare to a typical load?

A "typical" 500 pounder (1/2 ton), will absolutely ruin any plans you've made for the day....even while hiding in the basement of a masonry structure.

A "typical" 2000 pounder (1 ton), will reduce most of that masonry house and it's nearby neighbors to rubble -- and provide an excavation suitable for the next tenants swimming pool..

A 23 Ton explosion -- does the same to the entire freaking neighborhood for BLOCKS in every direction...<> Whoever or whatever was under the 23 Tons, but have really pissed of some Jews...

That is the story the old MSM wish they could have reported.
I bet there are many in the old media right now hoping the Israeli bombing missed the Hezbollah leadership, then they can bash their military for using too much ordinance, putting civilians at severe risk.
