How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Democrats
Chronwatch ^ | 11/23/2005 | knewshound

In a stunning show of testicular fortitude heretofore unknown to the Republican leadership, the Republicans, lead by Dennis Hastert, forced the Democrats’ hand by demanding a vote to stay or quit in Iraq.

This has not worked according to the Democrat-playbook at all.

The introduction of Cindy Sheehan as a public figure was no accident. It was just another in the steps the Democrats had taken to “Vietnamize” the Iraq war. Rep. Murtha’s demanding a troop pull out was right out of the 1971 playbook and I’m sure there were plans for sympathetic interviews by the New York Times, CPS, CNN et al to emphasize that Murtha “really didn’t want to do it” but that he just couldn’t “hold his conscience” anymore. With Bush’s poll numbers down, they were gathering for an orchestrated campaign to pull defeat from the grasp of victory once again.

Defeat you say? Of course defeat, that’s what they see for themselves if something isn’t done soon because, slowly and behind the scenes, we are nearing Victory in Iraq.

Oh I know, some of you out there will no doubt think I have gone off the deep end here. Victory? How can that be? All the Media report is how badly things are going in Iraq. Lets break it down and look into the future for a second.

Some facts;

We have been training Iraqi Police and Soldiers for a year now.

Their strength will soon approach 50 Divisions with more than 250,000 Combat trained troops, more than the Americans have in country by far. At that point, the US will move to remote bases and will withdraw from routine patrols, and will be used primarily as backup and air support. Casualties will drop to nearly nothing, troops will be rotated in and out with a steady drawdown of troop strength, rotating in units that will be leaving Germany (Old Europe).

With our forces freed from patrol in the towns and cities, they will become the most high tech border patrol the world has ever seen. The task of patrolling towns and cities will then fall to the Iraqis themselves, and if they are smart, and the Iraqis have been VERY clever using the Media, they will start a well-timed ad campaign that will highlight the fact that the terrorists in Iraq are no longer killing the “Crusaders” but rather that the terrorists are killing the sons and daughters of their neighbors—(Jordanian Wedding Parties, anyone?).

This will bring about a sea change in the attitudes of the populace of Iraq that will parallel the scenes we saw in Jordan earlier this week as 200,000 people marched to denounce al-Zarqawi and terrorism. Al-Zarqawi is now in the extremely weak position of having to defend his most recent atrocity when he blew up hotels in Jordan that killed only one “Crusader” but  managed o kill many faithful Muslim Jordanians and Palestinians).

That will put a dent in the old public image.

Speaking of dented public images, lets get back to the Democrats.

Even though they might sound like screaming moonbats, there are a few smart ones who seemed to be informed and are in a panic. If Iraq succeeds, their entire playbook to anoint Hillary for ‘08 will come crashing down around them as it starts to become apparent to voters that the old media has been lying to them and that, just maybe Bush was right after all. All of this BTW comes in right as the primaries are starting to ramp up and the “cut and run democrats” find themselves in a box as GOP campaigns across the country shout in unison that had we listened to the Dems, we would have failed.

There has been much gnashing of teeth on the Democrat side that Bush “doesn’t have a plan” or that he is “Blundering around” without a clue. The only ones without a clue here are those on the Democrat side of the aisle who are trumpeted in the media, the most recent of which was Rep. Murtha.

But if lowly bloggers know what is coming in the near future, certainly the “professional” media must?

Right?

For some reason, I think they do in fact know these things. And that terrifies them. That they know it and continue to push the Democrat agenda should also worry  you.

If what the Libs predict comes to pass, will they they defend, as they are now, the failure in which they themselves have participated?

If, on the other hand, the Bush doctrine (read “Victory”) succeeds, will. The Libs then be able to take credit for the very thing they are on record for opposing? (Hat Tip, Phil).

When the Dems floated the idea of withdrawal, that the Republican leadership saw the trap and played hardball was heartening. It showed that if given a chance, some in the leadership actually “get it” and are discovering that they are a Majority, and that acting like it pays dividends. The question is, what now? It is established that much of the funding for the DNC comes from the moveon.org, Michael Moore, Daily Kos bunch who see the entire world through the prism of far-FAR Left ideology. With the recent vote, House Democrats were forced to choose between the primaries and the General Election in ‘08 and they decided to hold out for the General. Smart move. Hillary in the White House is the prize.  The House and Senate (as we have witnessed) are small potatoes.

Now that the Rep. Hastert has shown the way, perhaps some additional spine will be discovered by the Republican leadership. One thing is for sure; the “Vietnamization” strategy that the Democrats were trying has been nipped in the bud, along with some potential House and Senate seats now going to the Republicans.

Victory rears its ugly head and the Democrat playbook just got thrown out the window.  Why?  Democrats seem to have forgotton what “Victory” tastes like.

I think this article would be right on if posted a couple weeks ago.

But since then there is an additional development.
Since the administration is talking about withdrawing droops early-mid next year, Democrats like Biden are suddenly floating plans to do exactly this. With media cooperation, they can pretend that the Democrats are forcing Bush into a correct course of action, even though Bush had already announced his plan to do this before they did!

You are incorrect about Hillary Rodham.

She is not stupid and she has studiously avoided any kind of anti-troops, cut-and-run sentiment.

In 2008, she may have difficulty in the primaries (though I doubt she will) but she will be stronger in the general election.

She will be able to say that while she didn't think the Bush administration did the best job managing the war, she supported the war and the troops. Then she will say that the important issue right now is no longer Iraq but healthcare costs and the larger economy.

Hillary is the beneficiary, not the lead on this.

It is the style of the Dems to put out a stalking horse to raise the issues while HRC stays in the background.

It has always been the Clinton style to let the "little people" do the dirty work while they swoop in after the dust settles to take credit.

Remember, the Dems dont take a dump without a plan, this just threw a monkeywrench in the works for them.

I actually believe this was their strategy all along.

They are not fools, thay know as well as I do that this was all coming to pass.

This was their attempt to take control of the issue.

Forcing the vote made them retreat. I hadnt seen a smackdown like that since the WWF.

This insulated the Repubs for a week or two while the Dems re-tool their strategy.

We shall see if the Repubs can out think them, I believe they can.

Wake up, wideawake: the Hildabeast will *not* be the 'Rats presidential candidate in 2008. She doesn't stand a chance of winning any Southern states, and the party leadership (now controlled by Screamin' Howie and the Soros-funded moonbat parade) knows it.

My money is on a 're-invented' ALGORE: he has lots of credibility among the moonbats, he knows how to re-invent himself on a moment's notice to make himself palatable to the sheeple, and the MSM will carry his water to the moon{bat?} and back.

Good ol' Algore will be tanned, rested and ready. Mark my words ...

Just like old generals are always re-fighting the last war. So, too the geriatric cadres and commissars of the left are still fighting the Viet Nam War. Probably the most telling feature of anti-war crowd is their absolute lack of intellectual flexibilty. They can't let go of the glorious Tet offensive and Walter Cronkite's defeatist epiphany or The Cooper-Church ammendment handing Uncle Ho the keys to Saigon. Those were the 'Glory Days' (quoth the Boss) for democrats and SDSers. Like a fat blue-crab locked onto a Crabbers fresh chicken thigh they just can't let go if their life depended on it.

WASHINGTON, DC (GPI) -- Dr. Leonard Wilkes, Congressional Physician, is reporting that early tests indicate the unexpected presence of a testicle stem cell in the Republican Congressional Delegation. Dr. Wilkes was noncommital when asked by incredulous reporters whether it is expected to grow to adult size in the foreseeable future.

I believe that putting Murtha out there to spearhead the movement was deliberate and not a bad choice.

Sadly however, he, like most of the Dems, know only one way to wage war.

Make a lot of noise, trumpet your anguish, go in half heartedly and run away before you win, just to keep it "fair".

This was just the latest attempt.

Thank GOD these people arent in power.

This is how I see what happened.

The Clintons through Pelosi set Murtha up to make this demand that we pull out of Iraq.

The Clintons know for damn sure that the only shot Hillary has of getting elected President is if there is a huge crisis and turmoil in America that would create enough political havoc so she could slip by all reasoning and snatch the Presidency in a topsy-turvy election fiasco.

So it was the Clintons that had the pull out resolution slipped to Murtha throguh Pelosi. But Murtha is not a total fool so he hedged and stalled on the idea, forcing Bill Clinton himself to declare "Iraq was a big mistake."

That then was all the simple minded coward Murtha needed to hear and then he came forward with his retreat document.

The Clintons and their Democrat cronies, and media goons were then all set to go crapheaded hysterical on this and create the false illusion that Iraq is lost and throw us into their desired turmoil, thereby setting the essential groundwork for Hillary's 08 bid.

But the Republicans pulled a brilliant move by making a similar resolution and forcing a vote. That caused the fog to be lifted and people saw what destruction the Democrats were standing on and killed this whole political treasonous angle of attack from the Clintons.

Then Bill Clinton was forced to grudgingly and bitterly say "Iraq MIGHT still work." and leaving the idiot Murtha to hang by himself.

And their media goon CNN was all bitter too and attacked Cheney with the X on his face.

To sum up this was all a plan straight from the Clintons to get Hillary elected president.

I have posted all this before but in parts, now I got it down complete.

Insightful comments all.

I concur on your HRC/WJC scenario.

That being said, I think that the entire scenario was a response to the facts on the ground and a realization that they are in deep kim-chee.

The fact is, we are winning, and are likely to have drawn down troop strenght regardless, this was an attempt to take credit for something that they not only opposed, but derided at every opportunity.

That the Repubs saw the trap and slammed the door closed was stunning.

Now that the strategy was revealed and defeated, I am curious to see how they plan to play this now.

Cheers,
