Actually Krugman is right when he calls Bush a radical....especially in foreign policy.

In fact many very liberal friends of mine have found empathy with Bush's contmept for the status quo. He's shaken the foundations of US foreign policy norms of the last 40 years. His unflinching push forward with no regard for the venom directed at him has made him a hero for some who can relate to the rebellious ethic.

My greatest dissapointment in John Kerry becoming president would have been that he was the safer, conservative choice. Kerry was a status quo politician while Bush doesn't hesitate to cut his own path.

Well said, and worth repeating. President Bush is just as tough as Truman and principled as Reagan. Thanks.

Developing...

"Developing"? I care about this like I care about Michael Moore's next "developing" bowel movement. what is wrong with Drudge that he gives Krugman's screeds any attention at all?

Well, I dislike it as it is also.

Working people are taxed to provide handouts for those who refuse to work.

Out 2A rights have been whittled down to almost nothing in the bigger states & cities.

And, Social Security is an unsustainable mness.

Let's not call this a landslide.

We simply won a presidential race, picked up a few seats in the congress, picked up a few more in the senate and simple kicked the crap out of the democrats.

Let's not call this a landslide.

Krugman IS a Mike Moore Democrat. I just can't decide if I should be ambivalent towards him, hoping he drags down the NYT like Moore dragged down the Dems in this election, or whether his huge audience through the Number 1 media outlet makes him dangerous.

Krugman is getting loonier and loonier ...

but after a Bush win, this kind of looniness is funny rather than sickening.

The election has had a similar effect on me. Stuff that would normally have me waving my shoe in the air now just makes me chuckle. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.

He's definitely a drag. Let' see. Since 1994. Democrats have lost control of the US House. US Senate and the White House. Since 2000 each election has lead to greater Repub control of Fed Govt. So I vote he is a drag, (and probably in drag), and not dangerous.

Actually, I thought Bush was a little more liberal than I'd like, but given the alternatives we've seen, he's by far the best choice. A plus is that he has convictions, morals, and a pair of "thangs".

LOL! Join the club (Sam's Club!)

That's the whole point--slamming the heart of middle America because we don't vote for European socialism!
Peter Fenn really truly seemed unaware he had insulted every WalMart shopper (read "voter") in America!

I guess 'rats still think they can insult people into voting for them.

I sent this email to krugman@nytimes.com -- thought I would share it with all of you.

Dear Mr. Krugman,

I read your opinion piece in today's Times with dismay. The Democrats, more than anything else, need to come to realistic grips with what it was that lead to this colossal defeat in the elections. And if people such as yourself are going to harp on this post-9/11 hangover and revulsion over the gay marriage issue you're steering in the wrong direction and clearly missing the point.

I take particular offense to your reference to "opposition to minority rights" as a corollary to opposition to abortion and gay rights. Please explain how someone who does not morally agree with infanticide is by extension a bigot and a racist. The connection is not clear to me. And the other point you are missing is that just because a voter rejects same sex marriage does NOT mean that they do not support gay rights generally. Apparently there is no difference to you between gay marriage and civil unions.

But with all due respect sir, reading columns such as your and witnessing the palpable hatred and contempt you have for our president and his supporters is astonishing. Hearing you and other media elites rant about how unfair everything is in the world makes this election the gift that just keeps on giving. Please keep it up.

Sincerely,
Mark

This little twerp used to be regarded as a very very good economist. His ability through simple mathematical models to explain what goes on in the economy is unmatched. Then he got some sort of liberal disease, I think it is some sort of ego-manaiacal intelligentsia disorder. He thinks that because he is smarter than anyone else he could throw common sense out the window. He sacrificed his reputation to become a shill for the looney left. I don't understand it. I would think it a very sad case were he not such a hateful little *S&%.
