Could ‘Secret’ Trump Voters Be His Key to Success in 2020?
NTK ^ | May 21, 2019 | Staff

Trump voters who kept silent about their support for him outnumbered those who did the same for Hillary Clinton by a 2-to-1 margin.

Nearly every poll predicted Hillary Clinton would defeat Donald Trump on Election Day 2016. Trump proved all those polls wrong, thanks in part to thousands of “secret” voters who silently supported his campaign.

These aren’t the folks attending his rallies or wearing the red “Make America Great Again” hats. But they supported Trump nonetheless, and they could be invaluable to his reelection efforts in 2020.

Given how divisive Trump remains, the same effect could repeat itself in 2020. Polls in battleground states have recently shown Trump falling behind former vice president and Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden. But these polls, like the ones that showed Clinton winning in 2016, could be failing to tap into a secret reserve of support for Trump.

Lots of people here would lose their livelihoods if they overtly supported the President. And this is making them much more pissed off.

No, while yes Trump will have supporters who won’t talk about their support...

The REAL reason Trump won was he got support from people that everyone else had written off... Lifelong democrats, who disengaged from politics as they watched the party march further and further away from them. Or just had general disdain for politics in general, because they all lie and say one thing, and then once elected do something else.

Trump won a good bit of these people over... not all, but a lot of them... and because he has delivered what he said he was going to do, many of those who just watched in 2016 and didn’t show up and vote for him.. will join those who did in 2020.

Trump will win re-election by the largest margin since Reagan. Wont be 49-1, but it will be by the largest EC re-election since 1984.

The left truly believes that if they can silence people or just drown them out then they’ve “won” the argument - when the opposite is obvious to any observer. They’ve created a culture where people just don’t talk about it. You can make me fear for my job and silence me but you can’t change how I’ll vote.

When I’m in fear of how I vote then the SHTF.

Stealth voters, then. I saw few yard signs in 2016. I expect fewer in 2020.

And if any pollster calls me, I’ll won’t tell them I’m voting for Trump.

Trump is only “divisive” because media outlets label him such. It is their overwrought hatred and venomous reporting that creates division.

Well, he could expose the coup conspirators so that no doubt lingers as to what the Dims really are. I think it’s in the works.

I don’t advertise my political views. My friends know exactly where I stand and they’re with me. I think some of my family realizes it though unfortunately several of them are Lefties who insist on bringing up politics then want to insist on dropping it when I don’t go along with the daily NPR talking points.

There is no way I would discuss this stuff at work unless I 100% know the person agrees with me. It’s just not worth the risk otherwise.

You know the left is going to try the popular vote scam? Florida and Texas are going blue because the Dems have found out that they can commit any amount of electoral fraud and get away with it. The Republicans won’t protest they’ll just come out with a strongly worded message.

We’re destined to be a brown, socialist hellhole. I’m not feeling very confident.

"...not worth the risk..."

Indeed. My employer is so looney-tune leftwing that even despite making them a gazillion dollars annually, my job would be threatened.

That’s the thing we must all keep in mind...libs are not RATIONAL beings.
We are engaging with people who are 100% on emotion with very little sensibility.
That is why they think they can "become bestest pals" with jihadi terrorists, for example.

I wonder how many work colleagues think exactly how I do. I know they exist but as nobody talks about it you just don’t know who. Of course the lefties have no hesitation, so I do addition by subtraction and have identified a few like minded souls.

Trump, Israel, Australia and others show we are not Secret voters but voters the Left are unwilling to count to their own chagrin:-)

I think they see it as payback for the black-listing of supposed communists during the 1950’s.

It was so bad at my last employer that the HR Department hosted a “cookies and milk” event the afternoon of Harvey Milk Day (this is naturally in California). I was so enraged and angry at that that I got out of there some months later.

I don’t think they were taking names of who showed up, but I’m sure that will be SOP in coming years.

You can imagine how “welcoming and safe” that environment felt for conservatives.

Agree. My employer invites us all to add a rainbow banner to our email whenever it is that Gay Pride Month occurs annually.
I don’t give a flying fig what my straight, gay, lesbian, or even purple-colored coworkers do during their time away from the office.
Just do your job while here. It really is not that difficult to get along. Do your job and then drive home at 5:30 pm.

Yes, now I am not American, but I would not blast my fondness for DJT across Facebook in fear of:

1) Retaliation by other posters contacting my employer, putting my job at risk

2) Threats to me and my family

I am guessing the situation is the same for Americans that live and work in left of center of states.

Yes, I find them presumptuous and arrogant, the left. We are trying out a new Church and at the Bible study one of the ladies went off on how stupid people are who watch Fox News. The one guy, who moved here to Canada from Oregon, said about his “right wing” Dad that “he is working on him”. The condescension is unbelievable.
