Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, has launched a historic bid to win the deeply Republican state of Texas in a bid to destroy Donald Trump's chances of becoming president.

Mrs Clinton committed $1.5 million to begin running television advertisements in the Lone Star state, which is usually ignored by Democratic presidential nominees who have not won it for 40 years.

Texas has 38 votes in the presidential electoral college, the second biggest number of any state after California. A candidate needs 270 to win.

Targeting Texas amounted to a political "decapitation strategy" by taking the biggest Republican state....

When you take in $500 million in illegal foreign government contributions you can waste money like this.

I can’t imagine it even being close, especially after that senate run fiasco.

But if their internals showed what is obvious, why waste 1.5 million, unless it’s a fake out to make the rest of the country thing EVERYTHING is in play for hitlery.

We are going to be inundated with trainloads of manure like this in the next 18 days. If you have hip-waders, put them on. A tampon or two up the nostrils will help with the smell if you dip them in camphor.

Trump should open a campaign in NYC where he is from. The fact he hasn’t worries m because NY is in play. Have his first rally right outside of Clinton’s headquarters in Brooklyn.

If/when Texas goes for Hillary, all is lost. We may as well take to ground. Or start filling sandbags and hunkering down!

Good thing it’s not a Republican talking about a “decapitation” strategy. ‘Cause those Republican calls for violence are oh-so-tiresome. [/s]

I believe there is a pretty serious vote fraud effort in Texas also aided mightily by the inevitable Federal Judge.

Mittens won Tx by 13 and lost nationally by 4. Therefore is 17 more Republican than the country as a whole. It is sort of like the AZ poll that had Hillary up by 5 With a D oversample of 20.

If Texas goes blue, I’d just find a way to leave the country. It might take several years, but I would do it, and not just talk about it like C-list celebrities.

This came straight out of Podesta’s propaganda “talking points” shop.

They must have caught the reporter having sex with a five year old monkey or something.

0bama did the same thing in 2008, because he had so much money he could afford to waste it, after all, it wasn’t his money. McCain won TX by about 15 points. Not much chance of TX voting for Clinton, they’re just doing it for show, and she too, has tremendous amounts of other peoples money.

Out of Hill’s $1+ billion campaign, a $1.5 million buy to help TX Dems who will win is a drop in the bucket, and buys loyalty to her for cheap.

These questions come up every election cycle.

My guess is that DNC is worried about FL and rust belt states like PA OH MI so they are trying to pick off TX, based on high Hispanic population.

I can't imagine Texas going Hillary. But I do not like the trend in the state. This article is from 2012, look at the 3 or 4th picture down showing Texas, county by county. http://www.geocurrents.info/geopolitics/elections/changes-in-u-s-electoral-geography-from-2000-to-2012-a-renewed-northsouth-divide

I guess I just get paranoid. I live in Virginia and we used to be solid red, until illegals and goverment growth got out of hand in the state.
