No I believe it is Cruz who is playing everyone. The attacks on McConnell were to establish his outsider cred. I believe Cruz is the designated GOPe approved “outsider” candidate this time. His support/endorsement of Rubio clinched it for me. McCain used to fake fight the leadership when he was the designated outsider “maverick” back in the day. You believe what you want. I will believe my lying eyes. Cruz is no outsider. The Uniparty establishment, including Cruz, are scared to death that a real outsider will get in and screw up their pillaging of the country.

The only thing the OP suggests is a massive anti-Trump PR campaign, including statements of objection by well-known members of the GOP, such as past presidents, generals, and other political figures.

The anti-Trump campaign would have to overcome what the OP sees as a false belief in the public mind, that a Trump presidency would benefit the middle class.

Good luck with either of those. One of the reasons Trump is popular with the people is that the people are rejecting the voices of the established political class, so all of their objections will be seen as expected, raised so the existing order can preserve its grip on a corrupt political-crony system.

And for helping the middle class, the political class has had its chance for 80 years, and has succeeding in running the country into the ground. No more.

I don’t recall ever saying he would “get along and go along” with both parties...I have said Trump is a businessman, not a politician...A successful businessman at that...He knows how to make things work...Not just talk about them...

The parties you mention may be the ones who have to “get along and go along”.....

Maybe you need to think a little bit...

Bob Dole, Jimmy Carter, Scott Brown...They are ancient history... Today’s establishment in Washington cares nothing about them...

Who listens to them???? Nobody...That’s who...

Yeah, they don’t like Cruz either, but he’s shot himself in the foot and they know he’s not going anywhere now...

The GOPe and the MSM media are unbelievably “teaming up” to try and damage Trump...It ain’t gonna work...It’s too obvious to America what they are doing...

Trump, as a businessman, has been “friends” with a lot of people...It is called “doing business” and he has been very, very good at it...To consider Trump a “Washington Insider” is laughable.

BTW, he has given money to a large number of people, including Cruz...

All the “establishment and Washington Insiders” have lost sight of REAL America...They only get out in REAL America to campaign and ask for money. After they do that, they rush back to Washington to shower and scrub the feeling of being around the “unwashed masses” for a day or two...

For them, anything between Washington, DC and Hollywood is “flyover country” full of peasants...

I imagine they will pull for Kasich as long as they think there’s any chance, while also encouraging Rubio.

That's why they're gonna lose.

The GOPe should have united around a single candidate before Iowa. Jeb was obviously hopeless by December. Back then they had a lot of options. But the Bush family and allies in the GOPe kept putting on the pressure behind the scenes, preventing anyone from bolting and endorsing someone else until after Iowa and New Hampshire. By then there were only two choices left for them, Kasich and Rubio, both weak.

If their agenda is amnesty their best choice was probably Rand Paul, who would have grabbed a lot of the Tea Party vote away from Trump. But his moderately isolationist foreign policy is something the GOPe doesn't want to adopt.

As this has played out it has become obvious that Trump knew something almost no one else knew when there were over a dozen candidates running. Far from the mainstream assertion that this was the strongest field of candidates in decades it was extremely weak.

This is easy to prove. Just try to think of who the GOPe could have united behind to stop Trump. I just tried to argue for Rand Paul and even I don't believe it!

Truth be told, running against these chumps Trump won the day he got in. Only a brokered convention can stop him now.

” My fear is that the opposition Trump has faced so far, rather disjointed and half-hearted attacks until recently, is nothing like what he will face in the general when he goes against a united Democrat party/MSM machine.”

Rest assured in the fact that the American people in poll after poll rank the trustworthiness of the media lower than rattlesnakes, used car salesmen and politicians. The seditious media simply doesn’t have the power of persuasion it had 50 years ago. It’s a new ballgame.

I used to agree with you that it was infantile - until I read that Cruz said, last night, that if he gets out of the race, he'd fall in with Rubio.

When Trump decided calling Cruz a liar was the best way to take him down the chance of a Trump/Cruz ticket dropped to zero. Under the circumstances Cruz has two choices, endorse Rubio or endorse no one. Kasich is even more establishment and Carson is done.

I think he should have endorsed no one, but I understand his decision.

The seditious media simply doesn’t have the power of persuasion it had 50 years ago. It’s a new ballgame.

It's hard to persuade people who don't watch at all. Who's the anchor on the CBS evening news? I couldn't pick them out of a lineup. No idea. All the "big" cable news channels combined don't have the reach of the lowest rated network newscast thirty years ago. Trump doesn't need them and he knows it, but they need him. For ratings. That's why liberals like Anderson Cooper throw him nothing but softball questions. They know he holds grudges (Fox News) and they want him to come back on. Their careers depend on it!

This dynamic will hold all the way to election day and beyond. Once internal polling shows that he's going to win they're going to be sucking up to him hoping for exclusive access to the next POTUS. Trump is playing them better than Reagan did, and that's saying a lot.

I suspect you may change your mind and condemnation of Cruz as one of the establishment elites after reading this fair assessment/critique and watching the video (at the end):

http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2015/11/ted-cruz-remarks-on-heidi-cruz-and-council-on-foreign-relations-cfr/

Cruz is brilliant and knows how Washington works. He has a proven record of bucking the establishment and is hated for it - which has nothing to do with "waiting his turn". He is without a doubt the best conservative candidate running for POTUS.

Have you not done in-depth research on the subjects you list?

Corker Bill: http://therightscoop.com/ted-cruz-why-i-voted-yes-for-corker-iran-bill/

TPA/TPP: http://www.hughhewitt.com/senator-ted-cruz-on-2016-tpa-tpp-and-the-islamic-state/ (article is long and you will need to scroll down for the TPA/TPP info)

Iran Treaty Deal: http://www.glennbeck.com/2016/01/13/from-the-horses-mouth-why-ted-cruz-missed-audit-the-fed-vote/

The questions you have about Cruz have reasonable answers. You may not like them, but Cruz has a helluva more conservative RECORD than Trump. I am wide awake and the more I learn about Trump, the more I dislike and do not trust him.

I find it unbelievable that somebody who has been as successful as Cruz has been at the highest levels of the GOP since 1999 is an outsider. Marrying a fellow super successful GOP establishment insider does not help me believe it either. I think the reason his fellow establishment guys are annoyed with him is because he is too ambitious to wait his turn. As far as “bucking the establishment goes”, does he actually have any concrete accomplishments that hurt them? I see a big nothing on that. He did more or less endorse Rubio the other night. That is some concrete anti-establishment action, isn’t it?

That's funny since I find it unbelievable that somebody who has been as successful as Trump has been exposed as a liar and fraud. If he wins the nomination, hold on to your ankles and kiss the election good-bye to Hillary because the Dems have done a helluva lot better opposition research on Trump than the GOP!

You need to take your blinders off and do some research on his scam Trump University. Cincinatus' Wife has done some great research here

Since I'm a Texan, I found the link, Texas governor Abbott once chased Trump University from Lone Star State especially revealing on Trump's scam. He tucked tail, closed up and ran. Ask yourself WHY?

And then there is the hiring of illegal immigrants (even though he got into the race condemning them). Yet another example of Trump's hypocrisy.

How much longer can Trump supporters excuse this?

I find it hypocritical of you to condemn Cruz because of his experience when you evidently don't know anything about his accomplishments. And yet you are a die hard supporter of Trump because he's a rich loud mouth blow-hard bully who has a track record of talking out of both sides of his mouth.

If you truly want know more about Cruz and his accomplishments (since you asked), see for yourself - and feel free to fact check.

P.S. Cruz most certainly DID NOT endorse Rubio. Where did you get that from, the National Enquire? Cruz has a much better chance of beating Rubio than vice-versa.

Cruz’s most impressive accomplish is making people think he is not a wholly owned GOP-E insider.

No, I got it off of here. There were a couple of threads the night of the debate about it. Cruz said he would support Rubio over Trump. Since there are only the three with any chance, that is kind of an endorsement, which is what I posted.

Cruz’s most impressive accomplish is making people think he is not a wholly owned GOP-E insider.

And yet you have no proof to back up that ridiculous statement. That is such a stretch it has to make you sore! But you support the Donald while ignoring these 'accomplishments':

* Donating to and praising many liberal democrats
* Condemning illegal immigration (while hiring illegals to work on several of his properties while paying them pennies on the dollar - or sometimes nothing).
* Praising Planned Parenthood for helping "millions and millions of women on women's health issues" (gag - and we haven't forgotten his pro-abortion & partial birth abortion stances that he's supposedly changed his mind on).
* Stating that he will show equal support to Israel/Palestinian issues.
* Running his Trump University scam which took advantage of so many people, it has landed him in a class action lawsuit in which he will have to testify in a few weeks.

Yep - there's no contest between which one is more honorable and deserving, < /sarc>

That is your choice. I’m voting for the best common sense candidate with the skills to out the country back on the rails. America has been driven into the ground by politicians dealing among themselves to sell out America to the New World Order. Trump has at long last EXPOSED
THE TRAITORS. i will NOT vote for just another lawyer lifetime politicians this time around. I’m voting for MAIN STREET instead of WALL STREET!
