What happens if Rubio wins Iowa?

Ok Freepers, put down the Trump/Cruz bats for a minute and consider this.

According to polling a plurality of Iowa voters are either undecided or soft in their support for any candidate.

Religious voters play a significant role in Iowa politics.

Religious voters have demonstrated in the past a distaste for candidate who engage in the bare knuckle politics Cruz/Trump have recently engaged in.

Historically polling in Iowa has been rather in accurate. Iowa almost always produces a surprise result.

Rubio has gone full out of for the religious votes. His ads spend a lot of time with him talking about his religious faith. His stump speechs spend a lot of time on his faith

Team Cruz switched from targeting Trump to going after Rubio today.

The space-time continuum shreds and all life as we know it ceases to exist.

Rubio is more trustworthy then Cruz for sure. Although I do not want Rubio winning Iowa. Trump has worked his butt off and deserves to win Iowa and then the nomination.

Cruz is totally unqualified. He is a fist-term senator controlled by special interests. He responds with nonsense speeches. Litigation over his nbc status would last for a long time and he’d lose. He would install “Oh Canada” as our national anthem. He has no experience and no achievements. He was for amnesty until he wasn’t. If he ever was the nominee, we would lose 45 states to Hillary.....yes he is that unlikable.

If Rubio wins Iowa ...

The whole race would reset and it would be a epic slug fest till the convention.

But, I have a hard time seeing that happen.

What is FAR more likely to happen... Rubio comes in a surprise 2nd... and it’s covered in such a way that he might as well have won it.

At which point... the whole race is reset and it’s a epic slug fest all the way to the convention.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict

1. Trump
2. Rubio
3. Cruz

in Iowa.

And the surprise 2nd finish by Rubio will be hyped SO much you might think he had won.

lol. I have been horrible to Cruz, but I think that everyone on Free Republic is an honor to talk to. I can’t wait for it to be over too. As much as I want Trump, once the primary is over, we will come together. We did so in 2012 and I imagine we will in 2020 and 2024. Have a great weekend.

I expect Trump to come in first or second. Either one will get him through NH and SC.

My Iowan husband just choked on his beer...do you know how hard it is to find proper gasoline for our small engines here on the farm?

I mourn for such small engines.

I have owned a number of them until I found the ethanol free gas station.

Head to the local general aviation airport and buy some 100LL.

No ethanol and you get all the wear reducing benefits of tetraethyl lead.

Its only once every four years that candidates and their huge teams and the media crawl all over Iowa throwing money all over the place. Once the election is over, they're never heard from again... until 4 years later.

I guess it makes sense to pretend that you're undecided, all the way up until primary/caucus day... that way you can keep the politicians and media there fawning all over you for as long as possible.

The phone rings every ten minutes. I accidently answer once in a while and tell them “its none of their business”. The above is what they hear.................

You forgot your sarcasm tag.

Rubio is a liar and like Cruz, he has an NBC problem. Two non citizens, as Rubio’s parents were, don’t get to see their children become president even if the children do happen to be born here.

That is just one of the many problems Rubio has. Maybe you should check into why he’s not defending his senate seat and why he won’t win the primary in his home state of Florida. Conservatives in Florida know not to trust Marco.
