He has been called a âWhacko Birdâ by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and other establishment Republicans in the U.S. Senate. He has been called an âextremistâ and a Tea Party Republican that likes to hang out on the far right fringe of the GOP.
Detractors, especially those who support his amigo in the Senate, Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) , make fun of his voice and appearance, as well as how he delivers his message.
Haters from the Rubio camp and those Democratic Party talking points-spewing armchair quarterbacks, who think they can accurately foretell the future when it comes to the 2016 Republican presidential primary race, have better come to terms with the fact that Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is very much âelectable.â(continued)

“...Bush isn’t even mentioned anymore...

Frome your keyboard to God’s ears.
Neighbor’s dog been getting on my nerves, but i’ll save that for obama.
Have the FL hounds sniffed out why Amber Stoner took so many flights on Marco’s GOP credit card?
Rico Suave will sic his supporters on you. Including Oprah?

Not until Trump is taken down. Trump is the one being attacked by all the media every day. And Trump is the one being attacked by other candidates and their super PACs. Trump is the one being attacked by RINOs officials in the Republican party. Clearly the word is out stop Trump at all costs use any means possible to stop Trump.
Well that was a pretty spectacular flip flop. He won his election by opposing any kind of amnesty. So coming out in favor of amnesty once elected is IMHO unforgivable. Rubios' political career will hopefully be over.
What battles, he strikes me more of a Don Quixote charging at wind mills. George Washington won the Revolutionary War by not fighting battles he knew he could not win. If your battle plan is to lose gloriously I don’t want to be in your army. You get to look good and move on, I get killed. No thanks.
Cruz stands for America.
Rubio stands for Latin America.
If Hillary is the D nominee any R is electable. The question should who has an agenda for American and who can get a mandate to implement that agenda? We need a landslide win with coat tails, a close election will not give us a mandate.
Rubio also stands for Turkey.
Poor babies.
If Rubio quits or implodes i imagine Bush is an alternate for many of his supporters so maybe he gets to 12-15%. Only one of Rubio and Bush will still be a factor come Iowa. By then o think we;ll have a 2 person race between Cruz and Trump. The base will select the nominee which is killing the elite.
Four years ago how many people thought Obama was electable? It was Hillary all the way.
“Rubio is frustrated because he is friendlier than Cruz, but people trust Cruz more, and that is what counts.”
A person that you considered a close friend attempts set fire to your house when you and your family are in it. You manage to stop him. He shows up again, tells you his life story (especially about his father dodging bullets to leave Cuba, which isn’t true, by the way) and what a wonderful family you have. But in the back of his pickup you see gasoline containers, ask him about it, and he simply cannot give a decent reason why they’re there.
Bottom line - there’s only a certain amount of support that Rubio will ever see as a Republican. He had a great shot to go right to the top, but when you attempt to BURN DOWN your own country, don’t expect others to be willing to forgive, at least for a generation.
“I donât see anything in the article at all that makes the argument Cruz is electable, other than the author screaming it. Cruzâs electability issue is with the general election not the primary...I wish that were not the case, but it is.”
I agree. People here also think Palin is electable, and she certainly is, if the election were limited to FReepers. Cruz has been Palinized, whether we like it or not. He is looked at as some kind of can’t-get-along, self-centered, religious nutcase by probably two thirds of Americans that have any opinion of him. Mind you I’m not giving my opinion of Cruz (which is just the opposite), but rather the narrative that the media has created of him.
He has one way out, which is to be Trump’s VP and be very high profile - let the country get to know him without the media in the way. If he can do that, he’ll then be in a position to win nationally.
Cruz is not Palanized and you are trying to do so yourself.
Cruz is electable and if Trump were to get the nomination Cruz would not be his VP - career killing.
I am sorry you let the MSM affect you so.
If Cruz gets into a strong position to win the nomination, you will EXACTLY what I mean, and you’ll be eating your words. Right now the media is giving Cruz a free ride, in the hope that he slows down Trump.
If Cruz doesn’t get to a strong position, we’ll never know - but given a term or two under Trump, the country will be ready for Cruz.
Cruz has NOT been "Palinized". Instead, he has generally gone without media coverage. The media now avoids him because, when they have tried to make him look bad, it is they who have ended up looking bad. So, they now avoid him as much as possible.
At the same time, the characterization of "can't-get- along, self-centered religious nutcase" is accordingly shallow -- perhaps broadly, but not strongly, held.
But...once Cruz is the candidate, they can no longer avoid him, they have to cover him! Whereupon Cruz can quickly dispell the shallow image the media has planted...and make hay by adeptly practicing his jiu-jitsu against the press.
The debates between Cruz and Hillary should also provide entertainment, as well as enlightenment. Cruz is the most articulate presenter o conservative thought since Reagan.
Finally, there is a misconception about Cruz an the Youth Vote. Fact is, his anti-establishment position is attractive to the segment and he is being effectively marketed to the segment (e.g., Tattoo and Mockingjay posters) and he enjoys a growing popularity.
This is one Republican candidate the media can't destroy...because he thrives on their carcasses.
Coincidentally more liberals than conservatives, so GOOD!
