The plentiful field of Republican presidential hopefuls may be both a blessing and a curse, according to conservative activist Bob Vander Plaats, who appeared Monday on "Americas Forum" with pollster John Zogby to discuss the weekends Faith and Freedom Summit in Iowa and the importance of a candidate doing well in the Hawkeye State.
"The good news is a great field and a lot of full-spectrum conservatives," said Vander Plaats on Newsmax TV. "The bad news is it's a great field, which means it's going to divide our vote. If we have that kind of splintering, can we really unite around one?"

The nine GOP presidential hopefuls who spoke at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalitions 2015 Spring Kickoff Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina "all did well," according to Vander Plaats, but Jindal and Cruz stood out.
"Bobby Jindal, who is being a surprise right now, a lot of people are resonating towards Gov. Jindal for his conservative message, and then Ted Cruz is showing his bold and courageous leadership," he said....

Yeah, I watched most of the speeches, and I agree completely that Cruz and Jindal were the best speakers, followed closely by Fiorina. Yes, Fiorina is a really good public speaker. I was really impressed by Jindal’s content and delivery, but Cruz is in a league of his own.
The winner of Iowa is often the one that promises to deliver the most pork to the pork and corn businesses.
Some politicians will even be sold on making fuel out of corn just to gain a few votes.
Iowa pork (not the piggy kind) is the reason Iowa shouldn’t go first every time. Their votes shouldn’t always count more than mine.
Zogby is a Dem and at least he stated it unlike those BS Dem pollsters like Quinnipiac who pretend to be fair.
Yes, Fiorina is a really good public speaker.
She is.
Doesn’t mean I agree with her on much but she is a very good communicator.
The only good thing that comes out of Iowa is I-35.
Yes, I’ve been frustrated and complaining for years about Iowa going first. Why should such a small state have such an inordinately big impact on whom the nominee will be?
Yet Ted Cruz gave them the tough love on Iowa and they respected that.
but she is a great attack dog on Clinton. Can say things the guys cant. if she stays in the race long enough to do some real damage to Clinton, then backs out, throw her some position in the new administration.
That’s okay, neither is Zogby. An Arab Muslim am I right?
Arab Catholic, according to Wiki.
Why his sorry excuses were not investigated by the FBI is the real question.
Rive and the Bushes were morons not to arrest him and the DNC operatives involved that that outrageous act.
Sorry spell check the 2004 election .
I knew what you meant.
Ruh-rho...this Democrat hack must know that Ted Cruz is ahead in the early Iowa polling, so he is trying to convince us that it he senator wins, it means nothing. The Left is utterly predictable.
I agree with your translation however ... that is true. Iowa isn’t meaningless to be sure, but it doesn’t mean a whole lot except to those on the very low rungs of the nomination ladder.
Yet Ted Cruz gave them the tough love on Iowa and they respected that.
Good deal.
Yep. Plus it’s cover for Jeb. I.e. “This means nothing really. Jeb can still win the nomination!”
but she is a great attack dog on Clinton. Can say things the guys cant. if she stays in the race long enough to do some real damage to Clinton, then backs out, throw her some position in the new administration.
I agree 100%.
