An analysis of census figures shows that at least 58,000 Middle Eastern men from countries other than Israel are residing illegally in the United States, a figure that analysts say highlights the nation's vulnerability to terrorist infiltrators.

Someone got paid to find that out? How much? I sure would like to bid on that contract!! And this is new? I guess all of a sudden illegals on Bush's watch are a threat and not on Clintons? So we know another party line n 2004: 'It's the illegals, stupid". Just remember who provided a safe haven for terorrists on American soil where they could train and promote thier agenda. And she is still a Senator.

The question is, will Banana Republicans still want to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and ignore the major issue of illegal entry on our southern border?

"The bureau found that 5,312,990 undocumented residents hailed from North and Central America, with 3,871,912 coming from Mexico, the source of the greatest number of illegal foreigners. "

First, I want to weigh in and say it should have been headlined: GOV'T FINDS ASS, USES BOTH HANDS
But the issue of illegal Mexicans is not black and white. If we deported them all today, we would shut down a lot of businesses. While it is unpalatable to offer lawbreakers amnesty, we may have to to avoid economic disruption.
On the other hand, we will get little out of that except a bunch of welfare clients among the families of these workers if we don't make the restrictions on guest workers very tight regarding how much of our public services we allow them to consume. And you can imagine the fuss the lkeftist pinkos would have with that. So it MIGHT be better to just ship them all home and take our economic lumps. Oh and we'd better then make the border VERY tight becuase Mexico will NOT be a fun place once we ship all these people home.

I tihnk some come for the better life and desire to succeed (like some relatives of mine - extended family) but some come to suck of the Govt (and register as a Dem in order to keep their supply coming). I guess it depends on the purpose. How would one know?

The GOP better be carefull. Hispanics are a huge voting block and should not be categorized with terrorists. The reason hispanics tend to vote Democrat is that there is a perception that the GOP is hostile towards them.
If Bush wins over the hispanic vote, which he is capable of, Democrats don't stand a chance. We can't lose sight of the big picture.

Lets all thank the Federal Government for the absolute "immigration free for all". Coming to a neighborhood near you, soon.

I>If Bush wins over the hispanic vote, which he is capable of, Democrats don't stand a chance
LOL! Are you joking? The article is talking about criminal illegal aliens. This Republican rant of winning over people is getting a bit much.
Winning them over at the expense of flooding our nation with millions upon millions *more* illegals? What are you talking about?

If Bush wins over the hispanic vote, which he is capable of, Democrats don't stand a chanceHe is already giving speaches in Spanish. What other suggestions do you have to *win over the Hispanics*, as you say.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Your reaction is exactly what I mean. There are a lot of honest good people out there who just want to work and make a living for their family. These people come across hostile "Americans" who seem to hate them for no obvious reason.
Then along come the Democrats who tell them they will protect them from all the evil racist Republicans who want to exterminate them. Your not seeing the big picture. Of course immigration should be controlled, but we have to have compassion for the thousands of decent immigrants who simply come here to work.
