November 8, 2001 -- An Islamic extremist who officials believe was slated to be the 20th hijacker in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is expected to be the first person indicted for conspiracy in the kamikaze plot.

Charges against Zacarias Moussaoui, a Frenchman of Moroccan descent, are likely to be presented soon to the New York grand jury investigating the suicide skyjackings, according to published reports.

Why are we bothering to make a federal case against this protozoan? If Congress had enough spine to declare war, this guy would be a saboteur and could be disposed of quickly, quietly, and cheaply.

Whatever they do, I hope they don't give him the death penalty. These scum worship death, so the ultimate punishment would be to keep him alive for as long as possible, preferably in a Supermax prison that would drive him slowly insane.

I don't think so. As I understand it, he would be subject to our laws as of the date of his crime. If we declared War on any given nation, we would be bound by convention. There will not be a declaration of war unless two things happen.

1.) This "war" escalates into a global confrontation, where another State (or States) attacks us. Or the democrats regain the Majority in both houses.

If you replaced the torture & videos with inane banter, you'd be Rosie ODonnel

She described his conversion as a "real brainwashing," L'Express reported.

Interesting. Had a discussion on another thread about the fact that bin Laden's right hand man is a psychiatrist.

Bump! Try him in a military tribunal and execute him promptly. He's a foreign belligerent guilty of conspiracy in committing an act of war. Why should the American people pay millions for his trial?

You forgot to add that he should have a wild pig as a cell-mate. They can be VERY nasty.

A trial is exactly what bin Laden wants at this point. The evidence we have to provide to convict this swine provides valuable insight to the terrorist into what intelligence we have (and don't have) of the terrorist networks. Every trial we have had of these terrorist makes them stronger.

The problem is "guilty of what?" Accessory? Conspitacy? All minor felonies.

What a waste of time and taxpayer money. (The following is just my fantasy in anger) Take him to the center of the country's largest football stadium, show about 3 hours of attack films as pre-game festivities, then shoot him in the head on national TV. I bet the advertising gained from that spectacle would jump-start the economy.

If Congress had enough spine to declare war

You want to Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt involved more than they are in the war effort? They are the reason Bush and Republicans in Congress did not want a declaration of war.

"The problem is "guilty of what?" Accessory? Conspitacy? All minor felonies."

These people are waging war on us. That makes them enemy soldier behind the lines, out of uniform.

Interrogation, Court Martial followed by execution.

Precisely what happend to German sabateurs that landed here in WWII.

We were not so squeamish then.

Agree completely that this is permitted by long-standing, court-teested law. Unfortunately, Feds will probably put into civil system. What wlll (in reality) be the charge? We don't want some weak "Mopery in the 3d Degree" felony.

after his instructors didn't trust him enough to fly solo despite 57 hours of flight training.

LOL! The guy must be a real klutz! I soloed after 6 hours (heard of some folks doing it after 3), and it only takes 40 hours to get a license.

This guy is a foreign agent (not in uniform) involved in an act of war. After squeezing him for information we need to stand him up and shoot him.
