The VA’s problem is not with its medical and local administrative staff. It's the corrupt upper echelon bureaucrats who are dismantling the VA health care system while lining their pockets. Shifting to privatized care is a guarantee of endless unaccountable graft and a death sentence for numerous veterans as they are bounced from facility to facility being treated as welfare patients. And then the “contract” dollars will run out.
That is why veterans organizations oppose privatization. And it is why they are also hammering the VA. Veterans organizations want the VA to run properly. Among other things, it means heads must roll at the upper echelons of the VA until the rot is cleaned out.
Remember, the VA is charged with being the advocate for veterans. Private medical facilities are only advocates for their bottom line.
And by the way, receiving VA medical care meets the requirements of that unconstitutional Obamacare. Once privatized, veterans medical care will not...no matter what Congress promises. Veterans will have to pay for insurance. Don't believe me? See what's happening to Tricare, another broken promise.
Don't be stupid and harmful.
VA is the best medical care I ever had.
Where...region matters.
I'm Cat 1 and use mostly the Mather (Sacramento), CA facility.
I get extraordinary care there, the best I've had in my life.
Which is it?
Depends on where you are - the one in Biloxi, MS does a great job.
And do you take morphine ER to even be able to walk or to sit up? I highly doubt you get over 200 mg’s of morphine a day at the VA these days unless you have cancer. The VA has cut off 90% of seriously injured Vets because these TBI types are committing suicide . The VA has a one size fits all now. You VA has more damn primary care idiots now with advanced practical nurses writing meds with zero MD supervision. Go through 9 dental implants with no pain meds.
Memphis VA sucks. Then there is the $$ cap 1 career Military..Navy Ret. SCPO, 2 SS checks as you are a senior who is married and you are over the $38 K limit for him to get VA care. Your stuck on the gutted Medicare and Tricare Life.
Only way to go is disability route. Then they ‘farm’ out a lot of services to private doctors and dentist any way. The only thing they have fully provided for is hearing aides due to jet engine hearing destruction. Have to say that the aides they provide are top draw and you get batteries and the ear wax traps free when you need them and adjustment with in a reasonable time frame.
So you are have private medical care, and more docs are not taking Medicare/Tricare Life patients. To low reimbursement. And it does not matter if it is private or VA the docs and staff are still a crap shoot as far as quality. If I didn’t stay on top of the Crap PCP, she would have killed both of us a couple of years ago.
Now she is trying to say based on a glucose report every 3 months I have a ‘sugar’ issue after I’ve take 1000 MG Vit C before she draws blood, which shoots sugar up. Wrote a script for one of the strong and worst diabetes drugs with out doing A1C1 or Keytone testing. NO test meter, until I raised a fuss, and then only 1 test strip per day. With a Type 2 son, who test 4 times a day, I know that is not kosher or normal. See the ENDOCRINOLOGIST in Aug.
I love the VA. This is crap. Fix pheonix and areas needed. Leave the rest a lone.
Amen.
