Our differences are necessary, a confused Pope Francis claimed with greatest emphasis during a September 5 inter-religious meeting with young people in Maputo, Mozambique.
At the same time, his controversial Deputy Secretary of State, Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, sat in the background and was chewing gum.
This is Francis statement, originally pronounced in Portuguese (video below):
I thank the members of different religious confessions who have joined us, and those who do not belong to any particular religious tradition. Thank you for encouraging one another to live and celebrate today the challenge of peace as the family that we are. You are experiencing that all of us are necessary: with our differences, we are all necessary. Our differences are necessary.
In the real world, differences are not necessary, the understanding of the truth is.
NovusOrdoWatch.org (September 7) called Francis speech little more than a lowest-common-denominator motivational speech using his usual naturalist platitudes about hopes, dreams, roots, and horizons completely devoid of anything supernatural, other than a generic God loves you at the end.
The Eveready heretic just keep going, and going ...

When will he strike THOU SHALL NOT KILL... from the Ten Commandments in order to advance Abortion/killing babies?
As a Catholic who stuck up for him in the beginning, he has turned out worse then the critics on FR were even saying at the time. He needs to go!!!!!
Either you're for totally open borders, socialism, and extreme environmentalism, or you're a "bigot and racist".
Impeach the Antipope!
Of course differences are necessary.
So necessary they must be manufactured and employed to goad to a fever pitch
How else can one divide and conquer, if one cannot inflame a suitably Balkanized population and culture?
Not all are sheep, even though God wishes we were. Differences are inevitable in the human condition.
This Pope sucks. Always.
He gets WORSE everyday!
"Our differences are necessary."

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians 1:10
---------------------------------------------------
"And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." Ephesians 1: 22-23
-------------------------------------------------
"All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one." John 17: 10-11
Isn’t the Pope’s job to promote and defend Catholicism as a better way to salvation than other religions? If he doesn’t believe that he is in the wrong job. If Catholicism isn’t better than other religions than what is the point?
The mistake is in thinking this started with Francis. This has been going on for decades now.
Taking the words at their literal value, he only suggested what many here have concluded. The words just don’t say what you are saying they said.
This pope is an impostor, an incompetent, and is working for the other side. He is ashamed of his religion. He kisses muzzies on the lips. He says to gays that God made them that way. He says there’s no hell. He is a political activist, and not a religious leader.
But these words, when taken literally, don’t warrant the condemnations voiced here.
Freedom is a right of every person: each individual enjoys the freedom of belief, thought, expression and action. The pluralism and the diversity of religions, colour, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings. This divine wisdom is the source from which the right to freedom of belief and the freedom to be different derives.
So, taken together, yes the condemnations are absolutely warranted.
In the real world, differences are not necessary, the understanding of the truth is.
Reality is metaphysically given and is absolute. Facts of reality are necessary, because there is no alternative to a fact of reality. Man-made facts of human origin are a product of choice and so are optional. Differences in man made facts are possible but not necessary.
He definitely has differences from the Bible.
I a way, he’s right - having one religion which eschews most of the Bible as the “standard” is a losing proposition for many souls.
One of the few things Glenn Beck got right was when he said, “Question God boldly”. Those who don’t bother to explore and study the Bible are just showing faith in mortals who tell them what to think...God stands up to investigation very well and many who claimed to be atheists and tried to prove there is no God ended up being some of the most enthusiastic carriers of The Word...
Of course, that’s not exactly how Francis means it...I’d wager a months pay on that...(if using FR as a betting platform wasn’t crass and illegal)...
“In the real world, differences are not necessary, the understanding of the truth is.”
If there were no differences, they wouldn’t need an understanding. Everything would be run like a utopia rather than a humanity and the truth would be one dimensional. And we wouldn’t need religion to tell us there are differences as they can’t be the truth in his determination. Circle of sharps and flats when it reaches f# and has to stop cold.
