Marks the new memorial he established earlier this year: Mary, Mother of the Church
The Church is a Mother, is feminine, Pope Francis said today as he celebrated Mass for the now obligatory Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church. And if this trait is forgotten, the Church resembles merely a charitable organization, or a football team; when it is a masculine Church, it sadly becomes a church of old bachelors, incapable of love, incapable of fruitfulness.
Pope Francis himself decided the feast should be celebrated on the Monday immediately following Pentecost, in order to encourage the growth of the maternal sense of the Church in the pastors, religious and faithful, as well as a growth of genuine Marian piety.
In his homily this morning at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis said that in the Gospel, Mary is always described as the Mother of Jesus, instead of the Lady or the widow of Joseph: her motherliness is emphasized throughout the Gospels, beginning with the Annunciation.

This guy wears me out.
The last time I researched this, there was a canon law procedure to remove clerics. But for just one job, that of pope, the removal procedure was incomplete.lacking the designation of an office or ecclesiastical officer to take the matter to handle. Anyone else - bishops cardinals priests sisters - the removal procedure is fully in place. Can anyone update this, hopefully? Thanks
Ok, the pope says love is for old men to be fruitful. And that is the future of his church. And that is with the blessing of Mother Mary. It is what Mary wants.
The Holy Spirit removes popes. He often does so rather suddenly.
This guy needs to move on and get a job selling insurance.
I’m about there. I’m almost ready to leave the Catholic Church. If it weren’t for my local parish priest I may be gone. This heretic is out to destroy the church, not lead her!
I am not leaving.
Like Peter I must say - to whom else shall I go, Lord you have the words of Eternal Life.
The Church has weathered heretics before.
Let me add this quote from St. John Paul the Great:
In an address given during that 1976 Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia for the bicentennial celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Cardinal Karol Wojtyla spoke some words which I believe were prophetic. -
''We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think that the wide circle of the American Society, or the whole wide circle of the Christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the Antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God's Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously.
~ Karol Cardinal Wojtyla, who became Saint John Paul the Great {Karol Cardinal Wojtyla, Notable & Quotable, Wall Street Journal (Nov. 9, 1978), 30.}
Please reconsider. That’s what the Pope and his cohorts are hoping for—to drive the faithful from the Church and transform it into something else.
You couldn’t disapprove of what’s going on any more than I do. But I will never leave the Church, which is still the place where I can receive the Sacraments, and where at least some faithful Catholics remain.
I’ve had to change my parish a couple of times because of lunatic priests, but I’m fortunate to have a good priest where I am now.
It still is the one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Christ, no matter how many lunatics are trying to wreck it.
Stick it out! Or if your priest doesn’t perform the Sacraments legitimately, then find somewhere else to go if necessary. Don’t let this Pope win!
This Pope has some very ‘original’ ideas.
Original = Strange and bordering on blasphemy.
You can leave the Roman church and find a church that worships Christ with sound Biblicak doctrine. I am partial to the Lutheran Church Missouri synod But there are many others as well. If you stay in the pew and support the Roman church with your money then you are saying you agree with them.
And he will fail but Christ is always with us in the Eucharist.
I see. Well, lets hope hes not on vacation
Agree Mom. This pope is proof that Martin Luther was right 501 years ago and hes still right. How can anyon who.loves the Lord accept this apostasy?
You are so right, doc.

Every faith that allows women to be clergy invariably also accepts things like birth control, divorce, abortion, and ‘gay marriage’, at least as far as I have seen. Try to find one that doesn’t. Also try to find one that thinks the discipline of celibacy is valuable and should be continued.

Could someone please explain this:
Para #841
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
