The widows mite a Pence to you,
But soon shall rise from where now it is viewed,
Humility about to rise,
Where wisdom lives and no demise,
So watch My choice begin to show,
When "others" preach a Trump to grow,
Truly this Pence shall be my choice ,
A man of God that speaks only My voice,
Luke 21:1-4Tree of Life Version
Teaching in the Temple
21 Then Yeshua looked up and saw the rich dropping their gifts into the treasury box. 2 He also saw a poor widow dropping in two small copper coins. [a] 3 And He said, Truly I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all the rest. 4 For all these put in their gifts from their surplus. But she, out of her poverty, put in all she had to live on.
Hope i’m not out of line. What is the Charismatic Caucus?
Like to spread my horizons.
Well, discussing this can be like juggling a hot potato. There are some Christians dead set against what in modern times has come to be known as a “charismatic” movement. I’ve known some of them. Others are really gung ho about it. I’ve known some of them too.
Gifts of tongues are one of the more obvious claimed gifts in the movement. Prophecy rates up there too. It looks like these are prophecy items.
I’d just like to make a comment that genuine gift manifestations are likely to accompany humility and a deep understanding of what the bible has to say about them too. If one has a gift of prophecy, say, it’s easy to be tempted to treat it almost like a toy or amusement item. A buzz is created, but few or none are edified.
I’m not what the modern charismatic movement would even call charismatic. However I’ve noticed, with no little awe at times about how the Lord can work, that prophecy has turned up in my own poetry, some of which is now songs. It was a 20-20 hindsight phenomenon when it was noticed. My “Redneck Revolution” foresaw the Trump victory about four years ago... at the time I viewed it as a fond wish, a hope. But it turns out that apparently I smelled it, spiritually, from a far ways off. A kind of Christian ESP, almost.
But I’m not charismatic in the modern sense, maybe because I am uncomfortable with both the theology and the manner of expression. How many charismatics are Calvinist? I am (mildly). But the modern movement started in the Wesleyan church, which is heavily Arminian, to the point that it believes salvations can be lost. Anyhow I would aver that to really understand prophecy, and treat it with proper humility, one also has to understand predestination.
Jesus lauded her contribution in spite of her poverty.
Interestingly enough, an enhanced image of the Shroud of Turin shows a Widow's Mite keeping each of the eyes shut.
Closer study of The Shroud shows that the person depicted was taken when he was praying.
It looks like a figure "3" , which is actually blood from the head wounds, on the forehead which is where the Jewish phylactery was worn while in prayer, with scrolls from the Torah enclosed within.
It also brings to mind Jesus saying that his blood would cover the Old Law.

Take redneck as a synonym for “deplorable” and it basically has nailed it.
If you called Trump four years ago, that’s pretty eerie.
His name wasn’t AT ALL in my mind until THE DAY he made the Mexico speech.
It was talking about the popular movement that ushered him in. That is what the Holy Spirit would be putting the muscle behind. Trump had made bids before, but they went nowhere. It was not the right time.
NO ONE took those seriously.
Except you and may someone else somewhere in a cave.
Inspired song.
There is a curious reference in Isaiah 53:9b. “He was with a rich man in His death.”
There is nothing wrong with riches in holy hands as such, if God wills them. Solomon was the equivalent of a modern trillionaire. However Jesus was emphatic that we should not be married to, or worship, riches. “It is as hard to pass a camel through an eye of a needle, as for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Or as Paul put it, “I know how to abound and I know how to be in want.” And elsewhere, “He who is wealthy in this world should be generous and willing to share.” If one has riches, or if one does not, in both cases one should use what one has to glorify God with.
But I think this bible reference alludes to the fact that Jesus’ death, paying for our sins, made it possible for the boundless grace of God to be released and apply to our situation. By becoming poor even unto death, Jesus effected our becoming rich, first spiritually, but that can manifest physically if God wills.
I think we are looking at a situation where an entire nation will be elevated both spiritually and physically, and that because God willed it and not because the nation purposed it or even deserved it. This should put paid once and for all to the idea that God is parsimonious. No, we have been the parsimonious ones. Had we been more minded to be generous, we would have seen more wherewithal too. But this lack is about to be wiped out. It will be to weep with joy to watch it and we will KNOW that God has blessed and that God deserves the glory for it too!
I do not know if it was Hebrew custom to bury a person with his phylacteries. This might be one of myriad details applying to Jesus that we only see hints of until we know more in heaven.
However He certainly prayed on the Cross. He prayed everywhere.
The Law was always doomed to fail. Moses had even warned the Hebrews, who showed what they were like at the incident of the Golden Calf, what their situation was and that they could not keep the Law. They said no, they could keep it, so God took them up on the bargain knowing very well that of themselves they couldn’t. They would need a supernatural salvation in order to be able to approach it, and still it would not be perfect on earth. Christians now know that God the Son worked that salvation through His sacrifice.
Great post.
I’ve usually found that giving is much better a feeling than having.
That’s how we are innately supposed to be maybe. Gets distorted along the way.
Get ready for Pence
this word is about to come true !
