What gravitational waves can teach us about creation

A momentary chirp rocked the scientific world last week when a team of researchers announced they had detected signals from gravitational waves produced when two black holes, with masses 29 and 36 times the mass of the sun, collided over a billion light years away. Since then, scientists have been giddy over the news.

“This detection is the beginning of a new era: The field of gravitational wave astronomy is now a reality,” Gabriela González, a Louisiana State University physics and astronomy professor, said in a statement.

But why is this discovery such a big deal?

Are they caused by white people driving SUV’s resulting in global warming?

If not they aren’t science

Actually evil SUV's played their part in preventing us from seeing these gravity waves earlier. The scientists had to filter out all the satanic gravitational effects from MONSTROUS SUV's driving near the detectors.

Of course the wonderfully streamlined trains, buses, and other forms of mass transit generate gravitational waves that didn't impact the detector in any way.

At least that's what my liberal friends told me.

Why the gravitational waves?

Because it was HEAVY, DUDE

Long time since there’s been a creationist ping, but here you go.

To observe any Universe beyond our own, you must travel faster than the speed of light. We will get there if islam and any ignorance like it does not stop us first.

They got a blip. From that they assumed it was from two black holes colliding. It could have been a fluctuation in the Sun just as easy, a momentary gravitational change in the Earth even.

Did they get something ? Yes. Cause and effect, that is something else.

Another win for the bounded universe.

I agree.

Lots of assuming going on in science.
