That's right. It's only Catholics who get to be blamed and stereotyped as a group on FR for the sins of their worst members.
That's the truth.
The same way as Catholics using birth control and getting abortions.
I’m just SURE that someone (or couple) has volunteered to adopt the child if she would carry it to term.
There are about 3,300 women going to do this TODAY in America.
Are you still killing your unborn? -- GOD |
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
Ouch!
The server will come DOWN!
God had a perfect son, Jesus Christ, and generously shared Him with the world for our benefit. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. He gave Christ to us so that we can share His love and mercy with others.

Post ‘em!
Thank you, Mrs. Dono. You are the voice of reason.
TC, I’ve mentioned this before, and I’ll say it again. The only people I ever personally knew who forced an abortion on a young woman were my Roman Catholic relatives up near Chicago. It was a tragic, unnecessary event, and the consequences will follow for the remainder of this life.
But I do not judge all Catholics by the moral failure of some. That is not a rational form of debate. The problem we have in philosophic terms is the demise of belief in God. The only possible alternative is some form or another of moral relativism. You wish to blame that on the Reformation, but a cogent argument can be made that the Reformation was in part a rejection of the long medieval slide into putting faith and reason on the same level, a process to which Aquinas made significant contribution.
And we can have that argument, and that would be fine. But slander of good people, speaking untruth about them for polemic effect, is distinctly outside the bounds of civil debate.
BTW, there is a denomination called the “Christian Church.” If I recall correctly, it was involved in the recent fracas in Indiana caving to the gay complaints over their religious freedom law. This “Christian Church” positioned themselves against the conservative Christians who wanted to live according to Scripture. I actually wrote the woman who is the current president of the outfit, and she responded. It was all liberal squish. They are no more Protestant in the classical, historical sense than Obama is a Christian in the classical, historical sense.
So finding this kind of relativism in that denomination is not at all surprising. The fact that they would try to coopt the Christian name and reputation is not surprising either. It is Satan’s MO.
And TC, there have been problems with this sort of apostasy since way before the Reformation. Remember old Israel? Repeatedly they rejected God and fell into various forms of idolatry and immorality. Did any of that invalidate the revelation God had given them? No. It rather proved it right. We have known for a long time an apostasy was coming that would be so pervasive there would be no escaping it, other than being one of God’s elect. Period. Disbelief in God and the corruption that brings is manifesting itself in all branches of formal Christianity. These are difficult time. Perhaps on some few issues, despite our theological differences, we could choose, at least occasionally, to not pick a fight with each other, at least where we can agree that the law of God is good and right, as in the preserving of the lives of the innocent.
Peace,
SR
I'd hope!
Morgana,
Interesting compare and contrast with this thread and some other threads. No lack of righteous condemnation here.
Uh...
They admit they are sinners?
Hallelujah!
Tery don’t like the present pope; either.
(Must be out of Grumpy Flakes.)
Thank you!
Tery; I love ya, man!!
