A woman who is 5 months pregnant is planning to travel from Texas to New Mexico today to have a late-term abortion because the unborn child she is carrying has been diagnosed as having Down syndrome.
Local New Mexico-based pro-life advocate Tara Shaver tells LifeNews she was contacted by the pro-life community in Lubbock, Texas this past weekend about the woman and her husband and their plans to have an abortions. Shaver is concerned that the Christian church the couple attends in Texas is counseling them to have an abortion, or at least defending the decision because the baby is disabled.
While we know that a huge majority of women obtaining abortions claim to be Christian, the Mom and Dad attend Hillside Christian Churchs Lubbock Campus. Hillsides mission is to Love God as we lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. However, when the Mom and Dad approached their Executive Pastor, Rich Jones, to seek wise counsel, they were prayed with and apparently sympathized with, she said. In fact, when concerned individuals in Lubbock reached out to Pastor Jones to make sure that he made every effort to save the life of this little girl, he was more concerned that there had been a HIPAA violation than he was about the impending death of a child. He even went so far as to call those contacting him self-righteous and instructed them not to contact the family.'
According to Pastor Jones, he has a worked in the healthcare profession for over 30 years. That seems to be lens that he is approaching this dire situation from. He apparently is operating off of a worldly mindset when biblical truth, relevant application of Gods word, and just basic biblical common is what this family under is care needs most, Shaver said.
Shaver said she contacted pastor Jones but did not receive a returned phone call. She left messages with other pastors as well and says she has not received any calls from the church.
Shaver said she and other pro-life people plan to stand outside the abortion clinic today with the hopes of meeting the couple and helping them choose life.
We along with many others have prayed have made phone calls, we have made every effort to preserve the life of this living innocent human child who has been created in the image of God. We will even be present today as a last of line of defense for this baby outside of the late term abortion killing center, she said.
The percentage of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome before birth and who eventually become victims of abortions is outlandishly high. Studies show somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-90 percent of unborn babies with Down syndrome are victimized by abortions. Abortion has ultimately wiped out about 30% percent of the Down syndrome community.
"However, when the Mom and Dad approached their Executive Pastor, Rich Jones, to seek wise counsel, they were prayed with and apparently sympathized with, she said. In fact, when concerned individuals in Lubbock reached out to Pastor Jones to make sure that he made every effort to save the life of this little girl, he was more concerned that there had been a HIPAA violation than he was about the impending death of a child. He even went so far as to call those contacting him self-righteous and instructed them not to contact the family.'"
That should be “pseudo-Christian church.”
What happens to a down syndrome baby given up for adoption? I am truly ignorant of how that scenario plays out. Regardless I can’t imagine that fate is any worse than being killed in the womb. After 5 months, is there any harm to this woman if she gives birth and then gives up the baby?
This woman is about to commit the sin of murder willfully. The Lord won’t like that. And that’s putting it mildly.
Jones is going to learn what God meant when He admonished that harming one of these little ones really ticks Him off ... millstones, drowning, worse than stuff like that are in this dead soul Jones’s future. Is there any alive soul in that church who sees what the master of this Jones fella is? Flee from such evil servants ...
As the falling away gains steam there will be even more of these pseudo-Christian gatherings.
They should call Sarah Palin for the straight scoop.
“What happens to a Down syndrome baby given up for adoption?”
It can be legally processed just like any other adoption. In fact, if she is 5 months pregnant.. she has four or five additional months to look into open adoption is they would like. There are couples who will adopt a Down Syndrome child.
“(Christian) Woman 5 Months Pregnant Planning to Have Abortion Because the Baby Has Down Syndrome”...
She’s not Christian.
Proverbs 6:16-19
To say the Lord hates abortion is putting it mildly.
The NDSAN (National Down Syndrome Adoption Network) has a site where waiting children.. some in the adoption process.. are listed.

“(Christian) Woman 5 Months Pregnant...”
Someone misspelt “Satanic”.
My son and daughter in law adopted a Down Syndrome baby from the Ukraine.
Five tadpoles now aged 8-26
We always gave the docs the stink eye when asked about feta protein testing and other crap
They really bombard you with this shite when the mom is over 40 trust me
If the baby is imperfect kill it
By their logic let it be born where you can really check it out and kill it then if it doesn’t suit you
What’s the different
And doing it that way is safer for the Goddess mother after all
Shucks....
Um, that's NOT a Christian church they are attending if they were counseled to have an abortion.
Neither they, nor the *church* they attend, have any business applying the term *Christian* to themselves.
“Someone misspelt Satanic.
Politicalkiddo that would be....

Thank you Carthago for finding that. I was on their site’s main page here
my thoughts were “this is a church?”
See my post #18
That testing doesn’t PROVE the child has Down’s.
It just indicates it MIGHT.
And there’s are false positives and there’s only a 1 in 80 chance that the positive indicates a real issue with the baby.
I refused it flat out because it was notoriously unreliable and it didn’t matter anyway.
Abortion was NEVER an option for us. Our children are God’s and we knew that from Day 1.
