As Christians of every stripe in Jesus' hometown of Nazareth begin to again take a real stand for their faith, local Muslims are warning them not to overstep the boundaries of their traditional place in the Middle East (hint: they must remain dhimmis, or second-class).
A large billboard hanging at a central point in Nazareth features a picture of an Israeli stop sign, along with the English translation of a verse from the Koran cautioning Christians (and Jews) to speak only the "truth" regarding Allah.
The poster (and Koran 4:171) reads:
"O people of the Scripture (Christians)! Do not exceed the limits of your religion. Say nothing but the truth about Allah (The One True God). The Christ Jesus, Son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God and His word conveyed to Mary and a spirit created by Him. So believe in God and His messengers and do not say: 'Three gods (trinity)'. Cease! It will be better for you. Indeed, Allah is the One and the Only God. His Holiness is far above having a son."
Evangelical Christians from Nazareth have become a growing and integral part of the overall Messianic body in the land, while traditional Christians (Catholics, Greek Orthodox, etc) have been waking up to their historical and religious connection to the Jews and are joining the Israeli army in ever greater numbers.

Thankfully they live within the nation of Israel so their rulers will provide some level of protection. Were they in the Palestinian territories they would come under the Moslem civil authorities as the poor Christians in Bethlehem have found to their sorrow.
We were in the Holy Land in 1999. I thought Nazareth was a real dump, full of low-lifes, kind of scary. Beautiful church there, tho. I forget its name.
That sign needs to come down and the Christians need to speak up.
Actually, the Israeli gov’t on many levels has been as clueless as any Western gov’t when it comes to recognizing the need to put the boot on this behavior. Christians in Jesus’s birthplace, not to mention other parts of Israel and “occupied palestine” are very often left to fend completely for themselves.
“In the name of Allah, The Inexorable, The Irresistible...”
Dang those Israelis! /s
It is not just the Christians; Jews can fare poorly as well. The Israeli government picks and chooses where, and for whom, it will expend its political and military capital. Yet they are better off in Israel than the other Islamic majority countries, often by levels of magnitude.
Bethlehem was returned to the PA in 1995; so sorry that Israel does not rule there anymore.
How do you slander a pedophilic, murdering, raping, thieving, psychotic screwball?
Great observation.
Q: “How do you slander a pedophilic, murdering, raping, thieving, psychotic screwball?”
A: You tell the truth about him.
You can literally photocopy what Muslims say about themselves and Mohammed and ask them to read it and they call you names. Even though it an in context source from a Muslim scholar.
Swallowed by their words and actions, they became a dustless wind, in the nothing of time.
I saw this sign in 2011. It is near Mary of Nazareth’s birthplace and the church that occupies the spot.
Much like Bethlehem, Nazareth is being taken over by Muslims.
Interesting thought. It is true that people that have a loose screw will go bananas when you hold up a mirror to them.
