Cardinal Timothy Dolan acknowledged on Sunday that there was still much to do to make the church welcoming to gay and lesbian Catholics.
"We gotta do better to see that our defense of marriage is not reduced to an attack on gay people. And I admit, we haven't been too good at that. We try our darndest to make sure we're not an anti-anybody," he said in an interview to be aired Sunday on ABC's "This Week.".
But the archbishop of New York said he wasn't sure how that outreach might work.
"I don't know. We're still trying. We're trying our best to do it. We got to listen to people," he said. "Jesus died on the cross for them as much as he did for me."(continued)

Dolan’s duty is to preach the gospel to all people even to Gays. Dolan better get back to reading the his Bible and what Jesus/God taught rather than trying to be the greatest TV talk religious personality and not a Godly servant.

Perhaps the Church could also do a better job reaching out to adulterers. I imagine a lot of them feel unwelcome when the Church says their behavior is neither in accordance with God’s will nor moral and may even be objectively harmful to them personally in this life. Suppressing that part of scripture, or maybe even endorsing the opposite, would make adulterers feel much more welcome. How about it, Cardinal Dolan?

Cardinal Dolan is a back-slapping, glad-handing pol who should never have been chosen Cardinal. How I long for the days of the great Cardinal O’Connor.

I'll grant you that. Sadly, the Church needs a few of those, too. I was surprised anyone thought that he was a serious contender for the top job.
Good questions. The Church's teaching is perfectly clear, and for those who refuse to listen, artificial "outreach" efforts merely encourage them in their sinful behavior and embolden them to push for further concessions.

Cardinal Dolan might do better to stay off the secular talk shows, and instead lead his archdiocese in public prayer for the conversion of sinners.
And when the reaching out is done, make sure to remind them that the sin is an abomination before the Lord.
That is why “Tolerance” is elevated above all other Virtues (which is evil)-—like Truth, Wisdom, Justice, etc. It is to allow evil to flourish-—whether killing babies, sodomizing others, theft from the producers to support laziness and sloth.
No Virtue can be eliminated for another—they ALL are equally as “Good”.
We are flipping Good and Evil in the minds of children with “Tolerance” and “Diversity”. Diversity is saying that all ideas and cultures are equal. It is radical Marxism which inculcates the “secular humanism” into children, even “Christian” children. That idea makes “judging” between two ideas, evil. In other words, if you use Reason and Logic-—it is Evil.
It is to destroy the concept of “Good and Evil” in children-—to destroy Christian ethics and promote vice which will collapse civil society.
It is illuminating and profound. The immaturity of the homosexuals always leads to brutality-—whether in the Samurai, Spartans, Nazi Brownshirts, Bolsheviks, and John Maynard Keynes (Sugar Keynes at Harvard) and the elites at Harvard in early 1900’s.
We see this evil fascism in the homosexual manifesto in the 80’s. They warned us about the takeover of our children. Homosexuals are intrinsically disordered—caused by childhood physical or emotional trauma. When they embrace their evil-—it is a total evil distortion of reality. Sodomy is always a Vice.
