Mormon Missionary Deception Method:
aMorePerfectUnion ^ | July 18,2010

Posted on 07/18/2010 4:27:06 PM PDT by restornu

Here it is again Resty, so you can pick out three things that are untrue. Any three. Mormon Missionary Deception Method:

1. Convince you of their sincerity 2. Trick you into expressing faith first in the Book of Mormon by praying and asking for a sign (this takes you off the objective ground of Biblical truth and puts you into subjective ground of feelings) 3. Convince you that the Bible has errors in its translation 4. Trick you into expressing faith in the prophet Joseph Smith 5. Trick you into expressing faith in the Restoration of the “Gospel” (see Galatians Chapter one) 6. Get you all the way into the baptismal font...

..........................................................

7. ONLY THEN... you will learn the true DEVIANT doctrines of Mormonism. At this point, it is too late! You only have feelings as a basis of truth! You will believe anything.

..........................................................

Such as the following “truths” taught in mormonism ...

The 3 Mormon Earth gods:

... The mormon “Heavenly Father” used to be a regular Joe, but became God - his name was Adam. Adam sinned. You will have to swallow that God could sin! ... The Jesus of mormonism was a created spirit being who became one of the three mormon earth gods ... The mormonic Holy Spirit is also a created spirit being. He doesn’t have a body because he is on probation! Yes, he was naughty. He sinned.

... In short, the mormon earth gods are fallen, sinful, created spirit beings.

... and there is more...

The FOURTH Mormon Earth God they don't like to talk about

... The Mormon Heavenly Mother God!

... Yes, it turns out there is a mormonic “Heavenly Mother God!”

... SHE and the father god have sex ... SHE is eternally pregnant ... SHE pops out spirit children who will some day get a human body on earth and can become gods themselves ... SHE is probably not the only godess! Mormons still believe and teach eternal polygamy - sister godesses

The Mormonic Pantheon of Trillions of gods:

... There are TRILLIONS of mormon gods on other planets. No one knows how many. It could be infinite. ... Hindus have approximately 350 million gods. They are pikers compared to mormons!

... How do they get so many gods? They manufacture more all the time:

... Any mormon male can be a God with his own planet, mother goddesses, and spirit kids to worship him. ... Becoming a mormon god means lots of works to attain the god-level. This is why you see mormons working so hard. Now you know why. They have to prove themselves worthy of godhood. ... All the trillions of gods in the mormon pantheon get together regularly over spring break in Kolob Beach to “counsel together”

What will your life be like as a mormon?

... you have to give 10%? - if not, no top level of heaven for you! ... your bishop is there to ask if you gave your FULL tithe - he may ask to see your pay stubs ... your bishop is also there to ask many probing, personal, embarrassing questions ... you will have to complete Masonic Temple rituals that involve strangers touching your private parts ... You will have to wear magic underwear 24/7/365

Once inside the Morg, you have to accept it ALL to move up the chain towards Godhood. This is just the start!

To Whom It May Concern let’s get this out on the table all you Freepers who adhere to this kind of stuff you are welcome to your own thoughts on my faith.

But what is portrayed here is like asking another person do you still beat you dog no matter how you answer the spin mister still has control.

All I know is that my 28 years as a Latter Day Saint has been a blessing on my life and help me to be a better person and a more understanding towards my fellowman even those who continue to pound on the LDS because we are different in some ways.

Those of you who think about my religion in this matter there is nothing I can say accept I know it is wholesome clean loving experience in a world gone mad!

I am thankful I have a refuge to go to when there is too much turmoil in the world I can come away refreshed knowing my Savior is overseeing every things and He is very nearby.

It seems for years those who opposed the LDS have been itching to yell it from the house top all the wicked things they think the Church is doing so here one of their latest version that has been posted to me in so many different ways.

Those who opposed the LDS need something I have not a clue what it is but something is driving them to be obsessed with this topic daily I hope somehow this can bring them and those who join them relief!

Someone just reminded me

Yes, Resty there is nothing to gain from trying to engage them. Let them rant on and show what bigots there are and leave them be. Give not that which is holy to the dogs or cast your pearls before swine.

They want to goad you, they want to provoke you to react.

Don’t give them anything, don’t even lurk their threads.

and here i thought Catholicism was off base. I’ve always looked at Mormonism as more of a cult than anything, like Jehova’s Witnesses. I dont claim to know much of Mormon doctrine, but if this post is even remotely accurate then Mormonism is a far cry from Christianity, yet they amazingly are portrayed as very similiar.

I wonder how these folks will feel when they realize I joined the church because one of my stepfathers told me just what Mormon missionaries tell people. “Don't believe what I say, read it for yourself, and pray about it, and ask to know the truth.”

He was a Baptist minister. I finally felt that conversion experience he told me about more than thirty years after I last saw him. Praying about the Book of Mormon. Oh, he also told me there is no place in the Bible that mentions baptism for the dead. The Elder that answered my questions showed me 1st Corinthians 15:29 in the Bible I got attending Baptist Sunday School as a teen.

29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

I've heard all kinds of explanations about how Paul didn't really mean baptism for the dead, but something else. All I know is that when I asked God about it, I got told the Book of Mormon is true, and Joseph Smith was a prophet. Good enough for me.

I've also been told that God didn't answer my prayer, Satan did. They must see a different God than I do.

NOT

Ezra Taft Benson

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaims that Jesus Christ is the Son of God in the most literal sense. The body in which He performed His mission in the flesh was sired by that same Holy Being we worship as God, our Eternal Father. Jesus was not the son of Joseph, nor was He begotten by the Holy Ghost" (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p. 7; cf. Come unto Christ, p. 4).

Joseph Fielding Smith

"Christ Not Begotten of Holy Ghost... Christ was begotten of God. He was not born without the aid of Man, and that Man was God!" (Doctrines of Salvation, Joseph Fielding Smith, 1954, 1:18).

James Talmage

"We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ, and much has been said concerning His proprietorship, His mastership, in the Church, the Church that bears His name. I take it to be a plain and simple principle that we cannot worship intelligently, and therefore acceptably unto the Lord, unless we know something of the attributes and of the will of Him whom we profess to worship. The relationship of the Christ to the Eternal Father has been set forth in such plainness that I do not think any wayfaring man amongst us can fail to understand. We recognize in Jesus Christ the Son of the Eternal Father, both in spirit and in body. There is no other meaning to attach to that expression, as used by the Eternal Father Himself---'Mine Only Begotten Son.' Christ combined within His own person and nature the attributes of His mortal mother, and just as truly the attributes of His immortal Sire. By that fixed and inexorable law of nature, that every living organism shall follow after his kind, Jesus the Christ had the power to die, for He was the offspring of a mortal woman; and He had the power to withstand death indefinitely, for He was the son of an immortal Father. This simplicity of doctrine has shocked many, but the truth is frequently shocking just because of its simplicity and consequent grandeur." (Conference Report, April 1915, p. 121)

Notice that the following Talmage quote is in currently used CES Institute manuals (official Church curriculum):

"That Child to be born of Mary was begotten of Elohim, the Eternal Father, not in violation of natural law but in accordance with a higher manifestation thereof; and, the offspring from that association of supreme sanctity, celestial Sireship, and pure through mortal maternity, was of right to be called the 'Son of the Highest'" (James Talmage, Jesus the Christ, 23rd ed., p. 81; quoted in Doctrines of the Gospel Student Manual: Religion 231-232, p. 9; quoted in The Life and Teachings of Jesus and His Apostles [New Testament Student Manual: Religion 211–212], p. 24) (This link is still good)

Melvin J. Ballard

The contemporary of Talmage, Mormon apostle, and grandfather of M. Russell Ballard wrote:

"One of the great questions that I have referred to that the world is concerned about, and is in confusion over, is as to whether or not his was a virgin birth, a birth wherein divine power interceded. Joseph Smith made it perfectly clear that Jesus Christ told the absolute truth, as did those who testify concerning him, the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ, wherein he is declared to be the very Son of God. And if God the Eternal Father is not the real Father of Jesus Christ, then are we in confusion; then is he not in reality the Son of God. But we declare that he is the Only Begotten of the Father in the flesh.

"Mary told the story most beautifully when she said that an angel of the Lord came to her and told her that she had found favor in the sight of God, and had come to be worthy of the fulfilment of the promises heretofore made, to become the virgin mother of the Redeemer of the world. She afterwards, referring to the event, said: 'God hath done wonderful things unto me.' 'And the Holy Ghost came upon her,' is the story, 'and she came into the presence of the highest.' No man or woman can live in mortality and survive the presence of the Highest except by the sustaining power of the Holy Ghost. So it came upon her to prepare her for admittance into the divine presence, and the power of the Highest, who is the Father, was present, and overshadowed her, and the holy Child that was born of her was called the Son of God.

Men who deny this, or who think that it degrades our Father, have no true conception of the sacredness of the most marvelous power with which God has endowed mortal men---the power of creation. Even though that power may be abused and may become a mere harp of pleasure to the wicked, nevertheless it is the most sacred and holy and divine function with which God has endowed man. Made holy, it is retained by the Father of us all, and in his exercise of that great and marvelous creative power and function, he did not debase himself, degrade himself, nor debauch his daughter. Thus Christ became the literal Son of a divine Father, and no one else was worthy to be his father." (Sermons and Missionary Services of Melvin J. Ballard, p. 167)

I’m confused. You know that Mormonism is based on a series of lies, and yet you still cling to your Mormon faith because it’s been “a blessing” on your life?

It wasn’t before I met the missionaries, but after wearing out a bunch of them. My wife joined a couple of years before I did, and I got to see that the folks at her church weren’t anything like I remember my stepfather and the minister at his church. He did much to damage my faith in God, but he also gave me some very good tools to help rebuild it. I think he was sincere, but very, VERY flawed. I learned to use a .45 Automatic at the age of 12 over his treatment of my mother.

Benjamin Franklin To Thomas Paine

I have read your manuscript(Common Sense) with some attention. By the argument it contains against a particular Providence, though you allow a general Providence, you strike at the foundations of all religion. For, without the belief of a Providence that takes cognisance of, guards, and guides, and may favor particular persons, there is no motive to worship a Deity, to fear his displeasure, or to pray for his protection. I will not enter into any discussion of your principles, though you seem to desire it.

At present I shall only give you my opinion that, though your reasons are subtle, and may prevail with some readers, you will not succeed so as to change the general sentiments of mankind on that subject, and the consequence of printing this piece will be, a great deal of odium drawn upon yourself, mischief to you, and no benefit to others. He that spits against the wind spits in his own face.

But were you to succeed, do you imagine any good would be done by it? You yourself may find it easy to live a virtuous life, without the assistance afforded by religion; you having a clear perception of the advantage of virtue, and the disadvantages of vice, and possessing a strength of resolution sufficient to enable you to resist common temptations.

But think how great a portion of mankind consists of weak and ignorant men and women, and of inexperienced, inconsiderate youth of both sexes, who have need of the motives of religion to restrain them from vice, to support their virtue, and retain them in the practice of it till it becomes habitual, which is the great point for its security.

And perhaps you are indebted to her originally, that is to your religious education, for the habits of virtue upon which you now justly value yourself. You might easily display your excellent talents of reasoning upon a less hazardous subject, and thereby obtain a rank with our most distinguished authors. For among us it is not necessary, as among the Hottentots, that a youth, to be raised into the company of men, should prove his manhood by beating his mother.

I would advise you, therefore, not to attempt unchaining the tiger, but to burn this piece before it is seen by any other person, whereby you will save yourself a great deal of mortification by the enemies it may raise against you, and perhaps a great deal of regret and repentance. If men are so wicked with religion, what would they be if without it?

My dad is also Catholic. He and I disagree on a lot of stuff, but we both agree that there is only one being who profits from this kind of stuff. And it ain’t God. I believe my church is superior to yours, in that we have more of the truth than you folks do. That said, I also believe that if you do the best you can to live by what you know, you have a better chance of getting to heaven that I do if I’m not doing what I know I should.

Like my dad says. We agree that there was one hill, with three crosses, and two of them were occupied by thieves. There is only room for one more man, and he’s the one who counts.
