But Mahony said the Arizona legislation might turn out to be a net positive, hastening the passage of federal immigration reform. It also gives the Catholic church a welcome break from criticism of its handling of sexual abuse allegations against priests.
And he Blesss Pedophiles too Finishes with amen and Happy Hunting
Why wouldn’t he? He should be in jail himself, shuffling around and hiding pedophile priests for almost 40 years.
Pandering to illegals just as some Catholic priests pandered to the Mafia.
We need a good African Pope who won’t tolerate people like him. Bring back ex-communication, shut off all of his funds, ban him from church property.
Worst. Cardinal. Ever.*
*=Tied with Cardinal Law of Boston, another bad apple.
Wow, I guess it will suck for the MSM when Mahoney is replaced!
Ya got that right.
A whole lot of FReepers won’t like it much either.
The Catholic ones will be dancing in the streets.
Persinally, in choosing friends, Catholic bishops are not near the top of my list.
This guy Mahony is a four flusher. A pandering, unabashed, indiscriminate phony of the highest order.
As usual, ICE was nowhere to be found.
The best response to Mahony and the Bishops is not to support the churchs financially especially Catholic Charities and the the Catholic Cammpaign for Human Development.
These Bishops and Cardinals have never had a real job and they are very poor stewards of the monies that they raise and only use it to advance their personal agendas such as illegal aliens.
It’s not just Mahony. The RCC endorses illegal immigration.
Catholic Legal Immigration Network

Mission Statement
To enhance and expand delivery of legal services to indigent and low-income immigrants principally through diocesan immigration programs and to meet the immigration needs identified by the Catholic Church in the United States.
CLINIC History
In 1988, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) established CLINIC as a legally distinct 501(c)(3) organization to support a rapidly growing network of community-based immigration programs. CLINIC’s network originally comprised 17 programs. It has since increased to more than 185 diocesan and other affiliated immigration programs with 290 field offices in 48 states. The network employs roughly 1,200 attorneys and “accredited” paralegals who, in turn, serve 600,000 low-income immigrants each year. CLINIC and its member agencies represent low-income immigrants without reference to their race, religion, gender, ethnic group, or other distinguishing characteristics.
# In 2007 alone, CLINIC provided 7,676 detained immigrants with know your rights workshops.
# CLINIC founded the only toll-free referral line for asylees seeking accurate information about available services and programs. In 2007, the National Asylee Information and Referral Line took 9,067 phone calls from detainees, their families and their supporters, and provided 3,439 detainees with individual screenings and interviews. Referral information is available in 19 different languages.
# In 2007, CLINIC made 211 legal rights presentations to children, consulted with 288 children, and fielded 1,781 phone calls for advice and referrals on detained childrens issues.
Agreed. I am ashamed to say I am Catholic after reading this criminal's remarks. Disgraceful and disgusting. May he rot in hell with all the pedophile priests he defended.
An African pope would probably be soft on illegal immigration.
that’s why I witheld and substantially decreased my church donation here in LA because I know it’s not going to God and it funds the rape scandal under Mahony’s watch at the L.A. archdiocese.
