The “Coexist” Movement and Delusion
The Igonorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 8/23/09 | DJP I.F.

Posted on 09/27/2009 2:31:42 PM PDT by The Ignorant Fisherman

It seems like everywhere you look these days while driving on the road – especially on college campuses – an odd-phrased bumper sticker with religious symbols spelling “COEXIST” can be seen. This phrase contains the spiritual ideologies of the major world religions.

Every letter in the “COEXIST” phrase has a symbol representing a religious system or spiritual ideology: “C” for the crescent and star (representing Islam); “O” being dotted with the Karma Wheel (Buddhism) “E” as energy in the relativity equation (Science); “X” illustrating the star of David (Judaism); the “I” representing the pentagram (Wicca/Pagan); “S” for the Tao symbol; and “T” for the cross for Christianity.

The goal of this movement is the promotion of a pluralistic and universal utopian worldview. At the heart of this movement is the abandonment of core absolutes and values (moral and spiritual.) This movement seeks to undermine personal beliefs and practices for the supposed “betterment” of world unification. Its most damnable feature, however, is the staunch rejection of the sovereignty and reality of Almighty God, His authoritative Word (the Bible), and His Savior to all fallen men, the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 John 2:22-23). The chief Promoter of this godless ecumenical movement is the godless music industry and the pop icon Bono from the band U2. Hollywood and the fashion industry also promote this movement with an array of clothing products, gear and bumper stickers.

A phrase from the Coexist website states, “Coexist is a concept brand for everyone, connecting people and planet, together we symbolize life, love and global harmony.”

I hate that bumpersticker. It’s thoroughly dishonest and misleading.

Doesn’t it anger people that they associate their movement with “evil Christians?”

When the opportunity arises, I simply ask the person with one of those stickers that I need some instructions on how to coexist with someone who beleives it is their religious duty to saw my head off with a dull knife.

It is usually followed by the expected FU accompanied by the single finger salute. I just smile back to them and extend all of my fingers while showing them the back of my hand and saying “ five times back to ya.”

Maybe I should start asking them if Nocholas Berg had one of those stickers on his car.

What's behind that bumper sticker...

It's often surrounded by "Obama '08", the "=" (gay) sticker, "Keep Your Laws Off My Body" and "Close The School Of The Americas" stickers.

There’s a whole lotta stupid behind that bumper sticker.

Generally, the bumper sticker is put on the REAR bumper, so the person BEHIND the bumper is reading it.

If you're the one reading it, you're the one BEHIND the sticker. Which means...?

I'm just sayin' :)

Have seen these around -

Coexist - Saturn

Usually accompanied by an Obummer sticker.

Have also seen "KUT" inside a white oval.
Don't know what that one is all about.

I understand completely the point HG was making.

But you see, I was born with an over active smart alec gland. It allows me to see and hear what others say, and twist it to mean what they say, but not what they mean.

Call it...a gift.

And have fun with it. I do. ;)

The other day I had an agressive driver turn left in front of me, cutting me off, while I was already IN and moving through an intersection, turning right...

You guessed it. A "co-exist" bumper sticker.

Had I not stopped suddenly, to make way for this traffic-law-breaker, we both most likely would have continued "to exist", but car bumpers, doors, perhaps a tire & wheel along with suspension componenets, would have needed to have been replaced. There might have been a bent frame or two...which could lead an insurance company to declare a vehicle a total loss.

One good rule of thumb for those wishing to "co-exist";

So you figure the sticker is facing the same direction as the car? It’s kinda hard to get them to stick that way, and very hard to read them. Just saying.

Kut

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Al-Kūt (Arabic: الكوت‎; BGN: Al Kūt; also spelled Kut-Al-Imara or Kut El Amara) is a city in eastern Iraq, on the left bank of the Tigris River, about 100 miles south east of Baghdad. As of 2003[update] the estimated population is about 374,000 people.[1] It is the capital of the province long known as Al Kut, but since the 1960s renamed Wasit.

Which way is the car going? If the car is going forward, then the person behind the car, is behind the sticker.

On the other hand, if you're behind the car, and the car is backing up, the sticker is then moving forward towards you, which means...

The driver is probably muslim, and is trying to run over your infidel self.

Allah Akbar!

Our Creator is not exactly fond of other gods taking a seat on an equal scale. Be that as it may, nations of men such as ours have founding documents facilitating pluralistic practices. If our Congress is going to “make no laws respecting religion,” then we are bound to accept whatever comes down the pike in a religious sense. Public Schools, to the extent they promote one religion or no religion, are illegal.

Good effort you did there.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Kooks United for Tyranny" or maybe "Knuckleheads Unified with Terrorists" or something.

Here's an example from the same vehicle -

Never have seen one up close yet.
There seems to be some smaller text around the edge.
Maybe get lucky some time and see what's up.
Might be something local - parking pass for a moonbat hangout or something.

Islam preaches intolerance and hatred and murderous intent against all non-Muslims. Furthermore, it is the duty of every Muslim to wage jihad against “unbelievers” (these are the words of Osama bin Laden).

We “kafirs” should prepare to govern ourselves accordingly.

Please to note my tagline.

I proposes a “coexist” membership initiation rule:

In order for one to fly a “coexist” bumper sticker, one should be required to spend one full night each - together alone at a remote location on an island beyond rule of law - with an armed, unknown but true fundamental believer in each of the following major world religions - after first clearly identifying ones own faith or lack thereof:

Christianity. Buddhism. Islam. Hinduism. Judaism.

Relying solely on the fundamental moral character of each of the true believers, they have chosen to “coexist” with - while they are sleeping through the night...

Wonder how many of even the most naive bonehead liberals faced with the reality of that situation, who today have those bumper stickers on their cars, would be needing lots and lots of coffee the next day - after one of those nights?...

Just saying.

What's behind that bumper sticker...

Oh, I don't know, but may I make a suggestion? Have all the people who put that bumper sticker on their car live for 90 days say, in Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia, or say the Sudan. Those people don't even have to announce their particular religious belief. Just live in one, of a number of countries, not the ones I have mentioned, and see if they keep that bumper sticker on their car.

Oops, silly me, they won't be able to come back and take it off their car..

Why, a liberal/socialist/democRAT may ask?

Because they would be dead, you bunch of richard craniums, that's why.

As everyone can tell, I don't suffer fools gladly.

Bingo - that's it. Had to find their website and take a look first. Yeah, it's the NPR infested UTA-operated radio station 90.5. I have seen those stickers around from time to time, but not that many and never up close, so it was a question mark with me. Seems they have a problem with listenership being "flat", having to make budget cuts and take on commerical ads to stay on the air, and the lefties are hating it.

Well, given that a bumper sticker has a front and a back (the back has the sticky stuff, the front has the slogan), when it is placed on a bumper, the person reading it would be reading the front, and would be standing in front of it, in relation to the bumper sticker.

Of course, with relation to the car, the person would be standing behind the car, but in front of the bumper sticker.

That is why I said the stupid person was behind the bumper sticker and not behind the car. It’s a frame-of-reference thing. The indirect object of the sentence provides the frame of reference.

Those oval stickers with the letters were originally used in Europe as "Country of Origin" car stickers -- with abbreviations for each country.

A craze caught on for the darn things, and every tourist destination you can think of has them now. SSI = St Simons Island, HHI = Hilton Head Island, TYB = Tybee Island, with the "Y" being the lighthouse with two rays of light to form the "Y". You can even get them with your dog breed, or the "Monster Shark Tournament" initials on them.

So "KUT" could be almost anything. You'll have to sneak up and read the fine print.

Stay alert everyone!

Personally, I refuse the letter by letter definition and do not see evil in co-existing with my neighbors, for instance. I just refuse to throw out another word in my vocabulary for this kind of nonsense, which is insidious and not really non-sensical at all!
