Gallup released the results of the annual poll on abortion. It found that 54 percent of Americans identify as “pro-choice.” That is an increase of two percentage points since last year’s Gallup poll. This poll also found that a record 32 percent of U.S. voters would vote only for a candidate who shares their views on abortion. POMONA, Calif. (KABC) -- The city of Pomona is seeing growth with new apartments and new businesses. There are some people, however, who can't afford basic needs. "In a city like Pomona, where you have a poverty rate of about 16, 16.5% - people are struggling. People are having a very difficult time being able to just have housing," Mayor Tim Sandoval said. The city wants to give some residents stimulus checks, a guaranteed income program to help with living expenses. It's called the Household Universal Grant (HUG) program.

The Supreme Court on Friday struck down a federal ban on bump stocks approved by former President Donald Trump, the latest opinion from the conservative court rolling back firearm regulations. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion for a 6-3 court. The court’s liberal wing, led by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, dissented. Trump had pushed for the ban in response to a 2017 mass shooting that killed 58 people at an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas. Bump stocks allow a shooter to convert a semi-automatic rifle into a weapon that can fire at a rate of hundreds of rounds a minute.

Authorities say gunfire was the cause of a fire Monday at a North Carolina power station that resulted in 730 customers to lose electricity. Opposition to wind and solar projects on the state and local level increased significantly last year, according to a new study by Columbia University’s Sabine Center for Climate Change Law. A bill passed by New York’s legislators requiring gun store owners to place a warning sign by the entrance of their businesses now awaits Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) signature. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A heat wave is coming to Pittsburgh, and almost all of the city's 200 public water fountains have yet to be turned on. But now a Pittsburgh City Council member is crafting a plan to get the water flowing after the Pittsburgh Department of Public Works director said this week that he didn't have the means to get the fountains working anytime soon.
